I took my wife out to dinner and after we decided to have a couple drinks. Gatsby's was awesome! I loved the whole speakeasy experience and the staff was fantastic. I will definitely be going back.

This place doesn’t want your business even if you try and adhere to their vague dress code listed on their website. Make sure you have a "back" to your sandal. If you wear a nice designer sandal that doesn’t have a “back” it won’t be up to whatever weird standard they have. They didn't let our group in because my mom was wearing sandals that weren't up to par… although the sandals were far from flip flops. They were designer sandals. Very strange rule to have and turn people away for. Bummer because she was visiting from out of town and we wanted to check this place out. The interesting thing was my fiancé was not called out for not having a back to her sandal… only my mom ? won’t be trying to go back and will not recommend to others.

Bummer that I am writing this, but will never go back here. Had been once before and decided to take some out of town guests. We made a last minute reservation. Waited outside in the hot alley for 20 minutes. Hostess looked us up and down and then took another group in. We waited and approached the door again, provided the reservation and then was told that we didn’t meet dress code. One of our out of town guests was wearing brown leather flip flops with no back, not to mention a long dress that covered them. Totally understand the dress code and the decision. However, I asked if I was going to be charged a cancelation fee and she said “no”.
I was charged $100 cancellation fee. I emailed asking for a discussion about the charge. I also called and left a message asking for a call back to discuss. I never received an email response or call back. I was extremely tempted to report it as fraud to my credit card…but ultimately I learned a very hard lesson about this establishment.
I took my business around the corner to a different establishment and had a much better experience all around. Would avoid this place based on our customer service experience.

Visited Gatsby on a Moms Night Out and we were transported to the 1920’s. The presentation and showmanship of the drinks paired with the atmosphere made for a memorable night. They even had amazing Mocktail options which was refreshing. Ensure you pay close attention to the dress code, several women had nice looking “flip flop” shoes on and were asked to change shoes to enter. Ensure they are a sandal or have a back strap if they go through your toes.

This is by far my favorite place to take friends for a unique experience. The drinks are amazing, the atmosphere is stunning, but what truly makes this place is the staff. They make this place so personal and really show how much they love their customers/job. Connor is by far the best bartender I've ever met! He makes the most unique delicious drinks.
Easily the coolest bar I’ve ever been to in my life. Cocktails were amazing, and the service was even better. Call ahead for a reservation (and the password). Make sure you’re following the dress code. Such a fun experience!!!!

This speakeasy bar is amazing! No vodka and No flip flops!? Yes! They have a strict dress code and ambiance that they do a fabulous job at keeping up. The small amounts of food is great, Drinks are even better, and some drinks are really cool and have a little extra! I highly recommend this bar if you like being well dressed, and want an expensive and nice atmosphere!

As you may well know, this place requires a password for entry, which we provided. The door opened to a young lady who emerged and proceeded to smile at us in a judgemental way while blocking the door. The nice young lady then explained that we couldn't enter since one of our ladies had Birkenstock sandals on. Birkenstock - $130 leather sandals... We thought she was joking, she was not. She then referred us their website that would clearly explain their ban on Birkenstock sandals... So, as we retreated and found ourselves with perfectly drinkable cocktails at an alternative location, we reviewed the Gatsby website for their limitation on Birkenstock sandals. We found no limitation on "Birkenstock" mentioned on the website. "Flip-flops"are not permitted apparently... We decided to Google the definition of flip-flops. Needless to say, we were unable to find any correlation between simple flip-flops and the aforementioned, quite expensive Birkenstock sandals our lady was wearing. Yet we were turned away. Shame shame Gatsby. Your hostess should know the difference between what the website is saying and what the actual expectation of your patrons are. Birkenstock is a vibe. It's 2024. It's Boise.

The ambiance here is great and the drinks are served with alot of flair and gusto. The whole affair is very intimate. I would recommend for special occasions. Probably not my place for everyday though due to the high drink cost.

I was able to come celebrate my birthday in the newly minted Garrison room, having a blast. Then we had coctails at the main area. What a fun experience. What a beautiful, classy 'speak easy' ?
