I’ve been a loyal fan of betos for all 5 years I’ve lived in Idaho. Unfortunately at my last trip, I noticed the price for my carnitas plate went up by $2 and it now comes with one tortilla instead of two. When I saw that written on the menu, I already knew what was coming. The dreaded shrinkflation effect of paying $2 more for a smaller portion. I decided to order it anyways since it’s the only thing i wanted, and my suspicions were confirmed. What used to be enough food to fill up 2 of there very large tortillas was now enough food to fill up just about one. I could understand paying $2 more and getting the same amount of food or paying the same and getting a smaller portion, but both? I’m so upset. I live 500 feet from betos and I don’t plan on coming back any time soon. Guess I’ll learn to make carnitas at home. It’ll probably cost less and be much higher quality. There’s no need to pay this much for food that is bottom of the barrel quality. It should be the cheapest thing around.

Good food. Extremely pushy to get a tip when I paid cash. I was digging in my purse to give the lady a tip after paying for my food. She was rude about and asked am I keeping the 2 cents or not. I stopped digging in my purse to give her a tip and just let her keep the 2 cents from purchase.

I gave him over 60$ for a 20$ order. Realized after leaving I didn’t get my change back. Asked for chips and queso on top of my 20$ order and he gave me chips with raw cheese on top. Used to have good experiences with this place 5 years ago and now I’m just disgusted and angry.

A dive but man they make a mean burrito and the beans are fire. An Idaho staple.
Found an Allen wrench in my bean and cheese burrito this morning. Was fortunate that I didn’t bite and harder and damage my teeth, I’ve eaten at betos a lot before this but now I will never eat there again.

Food is typically good/decent quality. Service is hit or miss, rarely personable. Best for those on a budget. If you want better quality food and aren't in a hurry and it's not 3am, Go next door to Los Mariachis.
**Update 12/27/2025** Drive thru service has been much faster lately. Always the same quality (yum). Thank you for draining the chicken more for the burritos, it used to drive me crazy how messy they would be and they haven’t been any more. Always love the red and green salsa too!
