The restaurant looks outstanding. The service was helpful and fixed my steak when it was overcooked.
The issue is really just the food quality and price. It's one of the highest end restaurants in Boise and among our 4 entrees, only 1 of them was great.
The pork chops were really excellent. The NY Strip was good but nothing special and the potatoes that came with it were way too smoky. The pasta was also good but not outstanding and the snapper was dry and not good.
Also the appetizer sourdough boule was pretty mediocre. It was extremely dense and not that flavorful and the butter that came with it tasted like very regular butter. The bread and butter at high end restaurants is usually better than this.

started of with a yelling yellowwood cocktail. very good taste and refreshing with the citrus and ginger. sourdough bread was very good and ordered elote to put on the bread. evidently the butter with the bread has ash from vegetables. was interesting. their elote had corn nuts on it and added a great texture. we also enjoyed the snapper with the thai twist, adding a small amount of heat and great flavor. their desert menu had a calla lyle on it and it’s probably the best drink i’ve had. it was pretty much an espresso martini with bourbon with some additional flavors that really paired nicely!

Saltbrush, what a gem you are!!! This seriously was one of the best dining experiences ever. The staff was so kind! And the manager, Koko (hope that’s right) was extremely accommodating for my sister’s birthday. Our waiter, didn’t catch his name, was attentive & our water cups were ALWAYS full. It felt special & warm. The food was delicious. The duck fat potatoes were amazing!!! The sourdough was divine & the drinks were delightful. 100/10 recommend for an impressionable dinner date, birthday, or special occasion.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Boise. The tenderloin and mashed potatoes are out of this world. The roasted carrots and duck fat potatoes were also amazing. Service was great and our waitress made excellent recommendations.
Entree was great, seasoned well. The salad was more like eating grass than a salad. If you are into earthy food this would be great for you.

This place is beautiful! I had the Coconut Thai Red Snapper and it was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. The vibe is very fun - great date night option!

Great service and atmosphere. However, the food was a bit of a letdown. The only thing that was really enjoyable, with great flavor, was a dessert. The steaks lacked flavor, had a weird grill taste, and the pork had way too much fat( half the meat). The manager did apologize, agree, and made it right to us. Just for price we paid , not in a hurry to return.
I must finish with: the Owner really cares about his resturant and took time to discuss our feedback and learned a lot from our conversation. We love to support small and local as those are the heart of this country. I have a lot of respect for his passion and care into his restaurant.
Again, lots of positives, just some things that we felt were a let down. It is just our opinion and honest feedback.
I encourage you to go try it for yourself.
We will give it another try.

Waiter Mis placed my wife’s order. She waited 20 extra minutes for her order. I had the Pork; it was fatty and salty. Would not recommend.

Disappointing for the price point.
My girlfriend and I came in to celebrate a special day and were excited to try this restaurant. The first thing we noticed was how loud it was. I think the dining area just needs some thicker curtains to absorb the sound but that wasn't a huge deal. We ordered the cured meats plate and it was pretty good but very small portions of the meats you want the most like the prosciutto.
Then came the Saltbrush salad... this was not good. it could have been good but the vegetables were old, soft, and warm like the dressing had been mixed into the salad 12+ hours before serving and then left at room temperature. This was the first time I've has sliced radish that was soft with almost no crunch. Unfortunately, I had to ask for silverware after waiting for 5 minutes or so because our waitress took my fist set with our plates after the cured meats.
Drinks can be very subjective but both our drinks were a bit on the sweet side, but they looked nice.
For our main entrées my girlfriend got the Thai Snapper, and it was delicious, and at a price of $34 there was no complaining! I, on the other hand, got the New York Strip, medium rare. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Immediately, I believed it was a bit on the rare side of medium rare which is usually no big deal, you just ask them to throw it on the grill for a little longer, but that wasn't an option because the entire steak was already sliced. The quality was of the meat was nice but what really upset me was that I was having to trim or chew through thick connective tissue with almost every bite. That's totally acceptable at a place like Texas Roadhouse but not when you want to charge $65 for a steak. It showed a major lack of attention to detail that is required if you want to be considered fine dining and not just overpriced. The steak came with mushrooms and small halved potato's. The mushrooms were fantastic but the potatoes were soft and chewy on the outside, and dry on the inside, like they had been cooked hours before and then microwaved to serve.
I wish I could say more good stuff about this place but I would pick quite a few other restaurants over Saltbrush to spend your $200+ on dinner for two.

Fantastic place and great food. The support staff was outstanding, and the atmosphere light and lovely. HOWEVER, the main waiter was seemed like he should have been at a more casual restaurant, just doing his job and waiting to go home. We had to ask other staff once to have him come over to take our main order which seemed odd as it was empty. Over all? It’s a good place based on the food but I doubt I’ll return based on the main service. This being said, I’m used to chandlers service so am probably very spoiled.
