What a sweet little place with good food and an historical flare.

Sturiale Place is having Wednesday dinners in August at 6PM. We went this week and loved the delicious food, warm hospitality and excellent wine. Each week there is a different three course meal. Ours started with a grilled romaine salad that was excellent...house-made croutons and a creamy dressing. The next course was spaghetti and meatballs...which we really enjoyed. Dessert was spumoni...house-made chocolate, pistachio, and cherry ice cream. I haven't had real spumoni in many years and it was a treat. Service is very good. The house red wine is excellent. Looking forward to returning.

A beautifully restored Boise relic. We were immediately greated by lovely Nikki. Warm and inviting, we could have stayed all day. The Sturiale Place makes you feel like you've come home to a long lost friend.

Lovely ambiance, nourishing food and kind people. Much care has been taken to renew and revive This Old House. The grounds are well kept, the service is spot on, coffee, soup and salad was wonderful. I liked the outside seating and the weather was perfect. I will be back to try something different next time. Thanks for the tour and history lesson for this Boise local.

Delectable wine and delicious hors d'oeuvres! Ambience incredible! The proprietor and her daughter, Rita and Gina respectively, present an atmosphere difficult to surpass. Whether it's sitting outside under the shady gazebo, listening to the bubbling fountain, perusing the antique and import gift shops, which I might add are reasonably priced, or taking in the beauty of this fully restored historical Boise home -- anyone would definitely love the serenity, wine tasting parties personalized lunches or dinners. Definitely on my "A" list!!!

After experiencing wildly successful popularity last year for their Friday lunches, owner Rita Sturiale closed the cafe portion of this gift shop - café in roughly December to regroup. So it was delightful when The Sturiale Place reopened last month (May 2018) as warm and wonderful as ever for ambiance in the lovingly restored old house, hospitality, service and food. With a revised and bit expanded menu and a new young Chef in the kitchen, formerly Executive Chef at a Portland area McMenamins, this was a unique little gem before and the changes have polished it even brighter. Our first lunch after re-opening was as delightful as the others we enjoyed here last year (see my previous review for details). This time we enjoyed being able to try new menu items like green salad with Delicata squash and herbed goat cheese (half order $7.50), house made pappardelle with braised lamb Bolognese ($18) and mushroom Marsala on polenta ($13). As a great new surprise on the wine menu, manager Gina Sturiale (daughter of Rita) has added a really good white and red wine by the glass, like the nice Negroamaro my husband enjoyed, for as little as $5! The menu spans options from soup through appetizers and starter or main course sized salads through entrees to desserts. Prices range from $6 to $18. Total inside seating is limited to maybe 16 and maybe about that many on an outside deck. So this is not a place for big groups. It is likely not a kids' destination either. As added treat they are now open on Thursday and Friday from 11 to 2 for lunch. And now reservations can be made via Open Table.
