Jay and Elva have an amazing place tucked into downtown Bonners Ferry. Elva makes the most humble vegetables (like potatoes) into Michelin level plates. Just try her potato pancake! The pork, cheese and jalapeno pupusa with their homemade salsa and slaw was delicious and certainly filling. Jay is an attentive and friendly host. This place is a little gem in Bonners Ferry.
Small unassuming storefront bellies what is within. Friendly owners. The food is great. Tamales in banana leaves are the best! The pupusas are huge and very tasty. I love the photos lining the walls. It’s history right in front of your eyes.
And, a great bonus to anyone 65 and over is the automatic 30% discount.
You gotta try this place!
We stopped in at this lovely restaurant with our 4 kids and had a wonderful experience across the board. They were so hospitable and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you need a place to eat in or near Bonners Ferry! You won’t regret it.
