“Small unassuming storefront bellies what is within. Friendly owners. The food is great. Tamales in banana leaves are the best! The pupusas are huge and very tasty. I love the photos lining the walls. It’s history right in front of your eyes.
And, a great bonus to anyone 65 and over is the automatic 30% discount.
You gotta try this place!“

“We went on the offer that's on tv and in the paper all the time. What a deal! A nice clean comfortable room w/ good beds, a free drink, and 2 breakfast coupons. The coupons said you could only order from a choice of 2, but our server said to get whatever we want off the menu! We both had omelets that were excellent. The toast appeared and tasted like it was from a bakery that morning and the coffee was very good. She even filled our travel mugs before we left. Dinner the night before was kind of a bummer in that their prime rib special was already gone at 6pm when we went in. I heard it is excellent. We will be back there and go in earlier to try it out. All around, the Kootenia Hotel and casino is a great get away.“

“Hillary! These fries….THESE DAMN HOME FRIES ARE HANDS DOWN A TOP 5 HOME FRY. I may be a simple man but gosh darn it these fries made my day while traveling through. Let’s not forget the wild caught salmon I had, cooked to perfection and well seasoned properly. I had washed it down with the Black Mountain Hazy, which held its own in perfect balance and finish. Couldn’t be happier with stopping in here. And the bartender Celia was an absolute gem. Definitely gonna make this a stop everytime I travel through.“
