I could say a lot, but want to keep this brief...ish. We had a bad experience here today which culminated in swearing off cobby's entirely. As for the staff service my SO left a review of our experience from her pov, but I want to talk about the food.I am a Boise native who has gone to cobby's since my childhood(80's). I was okay with losing the punch cards(if you didn't know a college student could get 2 meals for about 6$ back in the 00's), I was okay with slight price increases, I was even okay when I got older and my kids stopped getting kids meal activity bags. The food was good. But since, I assume, the business changed hands the sandwiches have skyrocketed in price(admittedly still good) I paid 80$ for 2 adults and 2 children under 5. But unseasoned sides and soups and the lack care of the salad bar and the water that comes from perfectly functioning fountain drink machines instead of soda. This place is now a kitchen nightmare. Finally, I looked into this multiple times and nothing I ordered had butter (or dairy for that matter) on it, but I ordered a pickle which they cut in half for some reason and it was covered in butter from a dirty knife. No one with allergies or anything here, it's just gross. Learn some basic kitchen etiquette.

I haven't been back since July 2023 as they forgot an entire sandwich and I was too busy and tired to go back and have them fix the order. We placed an order today and they forgot an entire kids meal. Admittedly, we should have checked the order before leaving, but settled for calling them about it. They did not answer their phone after multiple calls. My husband left with the receipt to get the forgotten kids meal which should've been proof enough. I called them from my phone hoping they could make the forgotten order while he drove back with the receipt. The person who finally answered the phone stated that it's their policy to show them all the food. So I called my husband and had him drive back to get the food and return to Cobby's.When he gets there, another employee said he didn't have to bring in all the food to prove we're not trying to steal a kid sized ham sandwich and macaroni salad so we went through all the song and dance for some bored employee's entertainment. Maybe that guy has the missing ham sandwich. We won't be going back.

The staff was very nice. But a $20 lunch for one person, it should be really tasty. And it wasn't ? the clam chowder was oddly sweet and just not edible. The hot roast beef sandwich, edible but not delicious like you'd hope for such a spendy sandwich. One chip choice, greasy Lay's potato chips snack bags. I'm bummed!

This place, specifically this location, is a time capsule. It's like a lodge in the interior, like it was crafted years ago very simply and has a very unique smell. The food is amazing. Soups are stellar. Drink offerings are totally acceptable for an old sandwich shop. The salad bar is a little lacking but has the standards.Staff is nice, during a rush they get through the line of people - just not super quick. Always worth the wait though. You are always offered free chips and fruit. Sometimes they even have free logo'd 5 gallon buckets. Why? I have no clue but people were excited to take them home. They do have meeting rooms to host larger groups of people.Parking: Limited but not hard to find a spot.

This was my first time trying Cobby’s and I’m SO impressed! The gentleman who helped me was extremely kind and informative. The food is delicious and the best part is that they offer Gluten-free bread! He made sure to wipe everything down for me and it was greatly appreciated. I will absolutely be going back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free available!

Friendly staff, good customer service, good sandwiches. I like that there are no TVs. Homey feel. Classic music.

Today is the first time I have had the chance to experience Cobby’s. The sandwich was so fresh! Absolute 10/10. The sandwiches that my husband and I had were worth the money. I would definitely recommend stopping

I use to love Coby’s but then I took a break about 3 weeks back the food was getting worse and worse. But then I came back to a new staff and the service was alright. But the sandwich was horrible. The Bacon was completely raw. I had to take it off the sandwich because I couldn’t eat it. The tomato it was pinkish white and warm and seemed like it has been sitting for a long time. Now finally for the price, i paid $13.20 for a small sandwich that was super overpriced. After this experience i am done with Coby’s it’s just really aggravating i paid that much for raw nasty sandwich.

I've been going here for 35+ years as an estimate. Good solid menu. Sandwhiches are always spot on. Corn chowder was great.

Cobby's is a Boise favorite. They have great sandwiches that are built to order with delicious bread choices. Plus clam chowder, chili and salad bar, serve yourself soft drinks and chips and fruit. Great place for lunch with friends and family.

Yesterday my son really wanted sandwiches from Cobby's for himself and his girlfriend. He looked online for Cobby's locations and the Chinden location indicated it was open until 9 p.m.I then drove my son and his girlfriend to the Cobby's Chinden location. It took us 20 minutes to get there and when we got there it was 8:17 p.m. I pulled up to Cobby's right as an employee turns off the sign that said open. We were very upset that the restaurant closed early all 3 of us really wanted Cobby's sandwiches. Besides the disappointment of not getting our sandwiches we spent 40 minutes driving there and back and wasted our gas and time.

Even though I use to take all out of town guests here. This place has fallen. The service for one, rude .... The sandwiches are not worth the high price. I can't justify it. The bread is old and the sandwich was as flat as a pancake. You charge over $15 for a small and it's all bread. Sization is real here. Higher price and smaller portions. The salad is gross. Lettuce is weird and potatoe salad had someThing chewy in it. It's just sad and gross to eat here now. I'll pass
