“Great place with great bartenders. The only complaint i have is the video game controllers don't always work.
But that's also a good thing, ig, because I finally beat my friend at Mario Kart, who was too drunk to realize his didn't work.
All about perspective, ig.“

“What a fun place with interesting, delicious Basque food! We had the fried peppers and split the lamb grinder sandwich which included croquettes as a side choice. All was so flavorful and filling. We knew nothing of Basque cuisine so this was a great introduction. The service was also really great, warm, welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend a visit here!“

“It's pub food, not my favorite but they do a pretty good job. I've always enjoyed the deck and a tallboy of tecate after a bike ride in the foothills here more than the food. It's a staple / landmark of Hyde Park - not to be overlooked.“

“This is a great neighborhood bar that has been around for a very long time. It has its regular customers. You will not find your typical bar menu food here, and the food is made fresh when ordered. I enjoy the bar for its shuffleboard and pool table. I drink whiskey and unfortunately, if you’re looking for a high-end whiskey drink, you will not find high-end whiskeys here. There are times that the music has been so loud that it was difficult to hear the people sitting across from me. Overall, it’s definitely an enjoyable restaurant/bar to frequent with friends.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility, but there are not many tables that would fit a wheelchair. Most tables are high tops.“
“My wife and I enjoy dropping by the River Room for a beer and a snack. And the bartender, James, is always delight. Friendly, knowledgeable, interesting, and makes great recommendations that never disappoint. The diverse selection of ever-rotating beers keeps the experience fresh. Tasty snacks, too.“
“McCleary's pub is a cozy and friendly neighborhood bar located in the heart of Boise, Idaho. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and regulars who make you feel like part of the family. The menu is simple but satisfying, with classic pub fare like burgers, wings, and fries. The beer selection is impressive, with a variety of local and regional brews on tap. Overall, McCleary's is a great spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat with friends, or to unwind after a long day.“
“I spent about 3 hours here on St. Patrick's Day. It was my first time here. The weather was good so we could be outside. My rating of 4 stars for atmosphere is based on being outside; I cannot say what it is like to spend time inside. The inside seemed like what one would expect of a neighborhood bar.I had to park far down the side street from the pub. There is very little on-site parking. It was not surprising to have to park far away given this place is on the corner of a busy main street and a lot of people attended this holiday eventThe staff had decorated for the holiday and they were dressed in green as were many of the patrons. It was crowded so we were lucky to get a place to sit.One of the first things I noticed was the stench of cigarette smoke. It was strong even though we were outside. Later it was not noticeable so the smokers must have left. The smoke and inadequate seating are why I have given 4 stars for atmosphere.Patrons had to go to the bar inside to get their drinks. There was a bar outside but I didn't see staff there the couple of times I passed by. The bar was super busy so they ran out of glasses. The staff members were working hard to take care of everyone. The staff were friendly and efficient. There were so many people attending this event that it was too loud to be able to hear my table mates. Again, not surprising. At 3:00 a rock band started playing. The music was fun but it was way too loud--even for outside. I noticed this pub regularly has bands outside in the summer. The pub had a counter set up outside where they were serving plates of corned beef and vegetables. Patrons paid $8 inside at the bar and took a token to the food table. The food was good and was like you would get at a family meal. The food wasn't hot because the staff had the lids off the roasting ovens in order to seve the food. The food was good anyway, the portions were generous and the price was right. After I ate I left. There were bagpipers later in the day. I was told that they were not too loud, which is good!I think this pub is fine for a neighborhood bar. For people who like hanging out outside and listening to music during the summer at a neighborhood bar it is a good place to go.“

“The Local ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Local in Boise is “a neighborhood Eatery and Wine Pub, offering live music and rotating artists.” They also have a dog, friendly patio and a Dog menu. MW and I visited during Happy Hour, which is Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 5 PM. We ordered a mix of items off of the happy hour menu and the regular menu. We started with Hurricane Popcorn - A Hawaiian favorite - with Nori Furikaki and Japanese rice crackers. It was very flavorful and unlike any popcorn I’ve ever had before. This is a unique menu items The Local is known for. We ordered two side Caesar salads. I like that it had homemade croutons, but it needed a little more more dressing. We shared an order of Carnitas Street Tacos, to which we added 1 extra taco. The pork was tender, but the tacos were pretty bland. We shared an order of Smash Sliders - 3 smash burgers using our own custom burger blend from Porterhouse in Eagle, with classic American cheese. They were tasty. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a photo! We shared two desserts: Berry Crisp - Blackberry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. The berry crisp was excellent! Crème Brûlée - Simple and delicious vanilla crème brulee. The crème brûlée was good, but not great. The texture wasn’t as creamy as it should’ve been. We visited early on a weekday, so we didn’t get to hear any live music, but we pretty much had the place to ourselves until towards the end of our visit. Overall, the food was good, but not great. However, they do have a bigger menu than most wine bars and they allow dogs on the patio. The Dog Menu looks excellent! The Local has a nice Wine Menu, as well as several local beers on tap. If you’re looking for a nice wine bar with a neighborhood pub vibe, The Local is worth considering. I would like to return and try their Pepe’s Famous Fish Tacos. The pictures of their flatbread look excellent too. * The Local is wheelchair accessible. Recommended!“
