Update: changed my review to a single star because they are never open. Sometimes there’s a note on the door with a reason, but usually the door is just locked.
Probably my favorite Mexican food in the Idaho Falls area.
They have an excellent salsa bar, although what is in it is unpredictable... the cabbage salad is awesome, but wasn't offered today.
The only reason for just 4 stars is their terrible hours and lack of parking. I want to bring my wife, but can't unless I take the day off...

We have ate at this restaurant a couple times and has been amazing. Yesterday we hired their food truck for our daughters graduation party....they knocked it out of the park. All our guests were raving about their food. Most impressive was the reliability and communication arranging them to provide food for our event. Thank you!

Amazing burritos! The Calakas Burritos is one of the best burritos in town. I would recommend to everyone reading this to give it a try. This burrito packed full of carne asada, carnitas, and adobada. This is a hefty burrito with a lot of meat. I also purchase the Fresca con crema and it was very good too, very sweet. Their sauces are very good, don’t shy away from the dark one, it’s not super spicy but very flavorful and smokey. The current hours for Calakas make it so that you have to stop by for breakfast or lunch, or a very early dinner. However it’s worth it. I recommend Calakas Tacos and Miches
Wheelchair accessibility: You have to order your food on the second floor, so I would doubt this is very easy for individuals that use wheelchairs.

I have been to this place for their dances and it has always been a good atmosphere. The service is great and today I ordered a couple burritos and omg! They are definitely delicious! I highly recommend this place

The food is so good, I asked if they could cook for a retirement party! The owners helped me refine my order for the number of attendees and had it all ready to go the day of the event. I ordered two trays of meat, a tray each of rice and beans, tortillas and salsas. We fed 35+ people and sent folks home with leftovers. Everyone raved and said they’d be visiting CalaKas on their own! Thank you guys so much for making this party easy and memorable!!!
So this place is honestly one of the best places to get authentic Mexican food ...the good stuff .we always are greeted with a smile and great vibes .. they are so good at what they do the wait means nothing I will gladly wait foe the real deal and these lady's got it 100% I have followed them from tacos el Loco until now and will continue to do so forever its family owned and operated and let me tell ya they make ya feel like family ! These women are amazing ,thank you for always providing the best all around

Was a bit confused walking in - to order you have to go up the stairs from the main room.

I haven't been able to find an amazing place that has amazing street tacos. But this place I found just by door dashing and when I want street tacos they are my to go place not only for me but my husband and our unborn daughter! Ladies know me when I walk in and they are always the sweetest! They deserve a 5 star all around! Love these ladies!
