Smitty's Pancake & Steak House

Stopped by Smitty's Pancake & Steak House for breakfast and had a great experience. I ordered the steak and eggs with the sourdough pancakes, and both were excellent. The steak was lean and cooked well, and the sourdough pancakes were delicious.

My server, Braiden, provided great customer service and made sure everything was taken care of. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that feels much better than a big chain restaurant.

I definitely recommend the steak and eggs if you're looking for a hearty breakfast. I'll be back next time I'm in Idaho Falls.

During my recent visit, I encountered several issues worth noting. First, the food I received was not hot and seemed to have been under a heat lamp for an extended period. After our meals arrived, the waitress did not return to check on us or inquire if we needed anything until she came to take away an empty plate and present the bill. Upon reviewing the check, I noticed a 3% 'technology fee' added to the total. When I asked about this charge, I was informed that it was specifically for credit card transactions. I opted to pay in cash, and the fee was not removed. When I inquired further, the staff explained that it was a charge imposed by the owners and could not be waived. The practice of adding bogus fees is disappointing and dishonest. Shameful business practice!

Really enjoyed our meal here. It's very cozy! Highly recommend the German pancake. It's an experience! The server seemed a little impatient but I got the feeling they were short staffed that night so all things considered service was good

A homey and delicious spot to grab a hearty breakfast/lunch/dinner! Staff are funny and friendly! Their menu has several options of pancakes from sourdough or buttermilk to German or potato. The german pancake was crispy on the edges and custardy in the center. The sourdough pancakes were light and airy. They had an interesting item called finger steaks so we had to try those for the fun of it. Loved getting to enjoy the hospitality of Smitty’s!

I will never go back. The food was fine, definitely not spectacular. The service was attentive, but they they charge you an extra three dollars for a fee, that when asked the server explained was for their hand held devices that they process your payment on. Unacceptable.

went into smittys food was good. but a person who wasn’t even me and my husbands waiter came up and hit on him. and then when i went into the bathroom she came up and hit on him like a middle school girl. so disrespectful and gross.

Why do you not have someone in the front to seat people? We had to leave because no one came to seat us & it was slow. 3 tables were taken.

Forty years ago I went to Smitty's and loved it! I finally was able to go back last week and the food and service was exceptional! Thank you Smitty's for not letting me down! It was great!
