Husband and I found this place to be really good. The atmosphere was nice and service was very good. Food was also good. Would suggest this place for anyone staying or driving through Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.

We found a Gem in Lava, it should not only be famous for their hot pools but 78 Main Street Eatery, AMAZING AND FRIENDLY SERVICE, and I can’t leave out DELICIOUS, we will be back,, 100/100 recommend,,,
Went there with family. Service was spotty. New York strip and shrimp got downgraded to sirloin steak that was tough and grisly. Price stayed the same as New York. Dinner salads came after main coarse was served. Very expensive for quality. Have eaten here numerous times before and was satisfied with other visits.

78 Main Dining is a restaurant in a little town. The menu is simple but covers most family wants, with American food and a few unique creations. Prices are fair, around $15-$20 a head. The food is simple and tasty, nothing over the top. Some meals are great, like the NY strip eggs and potatoes, which was delicious, and the breakfast potatoes were HOT and tasted great. However, the food can be incredibly average, and parts of meals have been cold. One taco salad was a big disappointment with a burnt hamburger patty in pieces, no beans or cheese. The steak was overcooked and the eggs were undercooked. The staff are super friendly. Servers do a great job even when short staffed, and one waitress was knowledgeable about gluten cross contamination. The place gets packed with people and stays busy during peak times. Booths are a little too close, and there was cold air blowing from underneath.
