Chuckwagon Restaurant Lava

We went here twice in a row, first day delish trout, baked potato (too much butter and undercooked) and a scone that was delish, 2nd day nasty fish and chips, I asked for mashed potatoes and they tasted like from a box with McCormick gravy, canned corn and store bought cole slaw, the highlight were the scones and my son loved the steak fingers, good mac cheese bites. Chantel was amazing, great personality and attitude. Loved her!!

Took 20 minutes to wait to get in then we didnt even get our food for like an hour and a half and it was barely warm will not go again!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had an awesome time at Chuck Wagon in Lava Hot Springs! Our waitress, M’lu, was amazing—she hooked my son up with the most epic hot chocolate ever, piled high with whipped cream, sprinkles, and all the fixings. He’s still talking about it! The food came out hot and fresh, and everything tasted great. The staff were super friendly, upbeat, and really attentive. Definitely a must-stop if you’re in town!

The kid says “I give this place 1,000 stars!!!”

I am so disappointed in this restaurant. I’ve been here several times over the years due to the amazing people, quick service, and reasonable price for delicious homey food. However, over the last 2 years the establishment has began to decline and I’m not sure why. At first we thought it was just a one off, but now I expect nothing less than crappy service, incorrect orders, and for anything to take over an hour. I was here on Monday, August 11th during lunch time and our food took wellllll over an hour which was then flavorless…and incorrect…and the waitress didn’t care at all. I asked to speak with a manager and I was told there wasn’t one, but that the owner should be around somewhere. I told her to relay the message that I’ll pay my bill, but we absolutely won’t be back. Even the tables next to us that didn’t have their food after an hour and had complained to the waitress asked how long ours took and if it was warm or normal for it to take this long - I told told them it was terrible and to go somewhere else. For anyone looking to get some good food, go to Eruption Brewery around the corner instead! That’s where we ended up AFTER this place. Great location, friendly staff, reasonable prices, quick service, and the food was correct with real flavor!

The hostess Sally was very rude and told me to not give her attitude. All I asked was while did she a party before me when they came in after myself and family.
It took a really long time to get our food. Being someone who is a diabetic I expect the to come out at a reasonable about of time. When the food it comes out to put table it was one order at a time.

The food was good. Our waitress was fabulous though! M'Lu (Mary Lu I believe) She was very friendly, personable and funny. She was quick to get us our orders and checked on us thoroughly during our meal.

This place is great, and they give you SO MUCH FOOD for an amazing price. Elley and Faith were our servers and they were very friendly and prompt. We will come back!

We got there at 4:30 on a Friday. We got seated immediately and our order taken probably five minutes after that. Our food was brought out 20 minutes later. The waitress was nice and friendly, too! Food was pretty good! I got the firebird which was definitely hot. My wife got the Navajo taco which was huge, too huge. The kids food was good. Steak was good but the best part of the meal were the scones! Delicious!! Food was fine and filling which is why I gave it 4 stars but it wasn’t amazing and the best. Just good! It is a little run down establishment but they do the best that they can!
