Papa Kelsey's | Subs & Salads - Meridian, ID

I have been eye balling this joint for the last year and today I finally got to try it out. It is conveniently next to Rocky Mountain High school so it was the perfect dinner after tonight's wrestling matches.

I walked in around 7:30 tonight. The place was empty. Nobody was upfront so I just checked out the menu board. A worker did finally make it to the register. Being it was my first time there, I was really unfamiliar with their sandwiches. I asked a couple questions and dude wasn't a lot of help. His mono tone approach to helping me made me feel uncomfortable, like I was bothering him. I should have just left but I went a head and ordered anyways.

I grabbed the whole Steak and Everything sandwich without the Everything for my husband. I got the half portion for myself. I added some chipotle ranch to mine.

The whole sandwich is no joke! The size of the sandwich could feed 2 to 3 people. It was hot, the cheese was melty and the steak was tender. My sandwich was huge as well for a half size. There were bright pieces of green pepper, mushrooms and banana peppers. I really wanted to like my sandwich. It lacked flavor. Even though it had the chipotle ranch on it, it didn't do much for the sandwich. The peppers, mushrooms and onions needed some seasoning on it. It tasted like steamed veggies on cheese and steak. I did add some salt and pepper but it was still very one noted. The bread was nice and soft. The banana peppers did add some nice acidity to the sandwich and the steak was very tender on my sandwich. As much stuff there was on the sandwich, it just didn't hit for me.

I'm not in this area a lot but I'm happy I got to try it out. It wasn't the best experience but maybe my next visit will have a better experience.

I really like their cinnamon roll and I ordered some fries to go with it. My favorite part about their fries used to be they're really good fry sauce. For some reason though this time it looks like they changed their fry sauce and made it kind of a gross combination of barbecue and mayonnaise. I like the traditional fry sauce I don't know why they got rid of it. Disappointed.

Take out food was decent, I think it would have been a lot better had we eaten there. Kids working there are very upbeat, helpful and on top of their job. Only tried once, but I want to try dining in next time.

I'm a sub snob and this place is definitely worth your time to check out. Love the French dip (I like to add mayo) and their Southwest subs. Unique bread that is uniquely their own style. Outdoor patio works great for pets! ?

We have ate here a handful of times now and it never disappoints. When we want a quick lunch, it has become our go to spot. The food and service are top notch- and we enjoy taking our friends there when they pop into town. Food is fantastic. Great portions. Prices are completely reasonable. Clean place. What is probably the most impressive for me is the young kids they have working there. Very pleasant, professional, etc. The young folks working there give a damn about what they're doing. Don't see this very often elsewhere. They were pretty busy on a Saturday lunch and the food was coming out of that kitchen QUICK.

I can't say enough good things about this place!! Food is amazing. Everything is fresh and consistent every time I go in. Great variety and healthy sized portions. Staff are attentive and very friendly. Super clean shop! Do yourself a favor and try it out!!
