He had eaten there and was also amazed by the food and service. I've had a few things to eat there. Burnt ends are my favorite...Melt in your mouth tender and perfect flavor. And the staff, even the folks who work in back will come out to get you what you need if the cashier has stepped away. It's a cheerful place, I'd just spend time in if I could for absolutlely no reason, but the food!!!!!

Some of the best BBQ you will find anywhere! You want some good hardy southern BBQ this is the place for you. I’ve been all over the nation and I would come back to Meridian Idaho just to have some more of this place. House sausage is to die for. The brisket is moist and melts in your mouth. The ribs are phenomenal. Make sure to try all the sauces are they are just as good as the food. Make sure to grab some of the banana pudding on your way out you won’t regret it. Staff is friendly and good conversation all around. Thanks for the amazing lunch/dinner/lunch!!

The food was fantastic and reasonable for the money. Though I will say for everything we ordered there was a good kick, except the Deviled eggs. Which is a little confusing. They tasted like slightly fancier hard boiled eggs.
Overall the service was not bad, for those dining in. I saw the owner/manager checking in with those who were eating there.
Alas I guess I ought to have done the same. I ordered two meals at 3:45 to be picked up at 5:00. A reasonable amount of time to prep and be picked up before the dinner rush started up.
I arrived at 4:59, to be told that I would have to wait for my order and was offered a glass for water. Ok no worries and a customary offer when waiting a few minutes for my order.
At 5:15 I finally received my order with an apology. Ok. I have a significant history working in food service. A 5 minute wait is tolerable and sometimes expected, particularly if they are busy. There were 3 parties of 3-5 there as I waited.
At 10 minutes, a check in with the customer is reflective of conscientious service.
At 15 minutes, that is when a small menu item or coupon for next visit ought to be offered for the borderline significant inconvenience. Especially since my order was not placed last minute and the restaurant was not slammed.
An apology does not suffice from a place that takes pride in their service.
This is a small business, and again the food wasvery tasty. Which is why the overall score is 4 stars. That being said we as customers ought to expect quality food and service. Then places will either rise to the occasion or fall by the wayside.

Run, Run to this place! They just catered our daughter's wedding and the food was AMAZING!! The brisket was so tender and juicy that people were stopping us to ask WHO MADE THIS FOOD!?! Everything from salad to dinner rolls and all the food in between was soooo good! Tanya went above and beyond to make it all work! 11/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We were tasked to feed 150 hungry football players and with some things falling through the cracks, we were scrambling at the last minute to ensure we had enough food. At the 11th hour, Tonya and her amazing team were able to bridge the gap and pull it off for us! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is exceptional! We got the J.R.’s plate with double brisket and ribs, mac n ‘ cheese, and coleslaw. The brisket was EXCELLENT…glad we double! The ribs had a little spice to them, which I didn’t like, but the meat came right off the bone and were good otherwise. The Mac n’ cheese and coleslaw were both great. Definitely would come back!!!

The brisket had a nice bark, choice of lean, fattier or mix. The flavor was stupendous with a smokey flavor that enhanced the meat without overwhelming your palate. The smoked jalapeño and cheddar sausage was a great balance of cheese (not too much) and spicy smokiness. I also had the smoked sauerkraut. I am biased about sauerkraut because I love it. This had an excellent flavor with a little crispness. It complemented the meat and sauce well. The fried okra was crispy and well seasoned. Their service was great; thorough with making sure they got your order correct and checking on you while enjoying their great food.

This is my family’s favorite BBQ spot in the Boise area! Everyone here is friendly. We always get the J.R.’s plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage + 2 sides; it’s more than enough food to share between 2 adults and 1 kid. I love their fried okra!
