Just be careful not to fall in love and get “grubbed out” from eating too much, that’s the worst. Overall, staff is friendly and the food is good. Just go at the right time so you don’t have to wait in line too long.

best mac and cheese eva
Oh my cheesus… I just had the Greek mac… best mac I’ve ever had in my life. Will be back tomorrow for sure.
I was walking home the other night/early morning... and the familiar pang of hunger struck me as I approached the Grub Truck and Buy the Dozen. Honestly, not sure if it was true hunger or some pavlovian twinge activated by that time and place and the presence of food trucks. It really didn't matter because it was there.
I've been a frequent visitor to the Grub on many an alcohol-induced evening of shenanigans, adventures and misadventures alike. I'm familiar with Grub's multitude of mac n cheese (the pesto was my go-to during my pre-2020 outings) and juicy tacos. All great options, generous portions, food that will fill your belly all the way up to your heart. At the same time, I have memories I'd rather forget burned into my brain and body of mac n cheese and whatever mixture of cheap alcohol The Garden (RIP, love you) had served me, splayed out on the pavement of Main Street for everyone and their uncle to see.
Tonight though, I wanted something small, like an hors-d'oeuvre-sized portion to tide me over for the walk home. I also wanted savory. A little dismayed, a little saddened, but nevertheless persistent to satisfy the growling in my stomach, it was time to think outside of the box. While I enjoy all the food Grub Truck has to offer, I had a hunger that only fried food could satisfy and I had no interest in a heaping portion to carry home nor leftovers.
After placing an order for fried dough-O's from Buy the Dozen, I trotted over to Grub to brainstorm options for savory. After explaining my situation, the folks at Grub were eager to assist in making my late night, sober munchy dreams come true. They recommended their Garlic Sauce which was a blend of absolute flavor glory - oh my god it smelled so good. Specific shout out to whomever thought up that sauce and makes it for the folks to enjoy. You're the hero we need in these trying times.
Cup in hand, anticipation propelled me like a child excited for spring, or candy, or whatever a child can be excited for which is literally anything and everything. I am a child in this grown ass body. This was my spring. The wee donuts were fried to a golden crisp outside, I ate one by itself for integrity-sake. Soft, pillowy, fried, roasty-toasty goodness. Now was the time to bring the dream to reality - savory donut time. Loaded with a generous portion of the sauce, the first donut was everything I wanted in that moment and more. Savory, garlicy, fresh, zingy, crispy, chewy, melt-in-your-mouth tastiness. My tastebuds and tummy were content. I horked down the remaining donuts and most of the sauce, shared my joy with the folks at both trucks and sauntered home. Quite pleased with myself, actually. I couldn't bring myself to throw away the remaining portion of sauce. Instead, I stopped in at a friend's house and gifted them the rest. So good it needed sharing.
This collab was truly a gift to the universe and I am deeply grateful to the folks at Grub Truck and Buy the Dozen for the good conversation and willingness to try something new with me. Go out on a limb and find that what lies beyond is actually a community of people feeding and nurtuting the creativity and play within each other.
I appreciate you Grub Truck.
Signed,
Sober Cyd
Food has honestly been pretty bad every single time I’ve gone, none of the spicy options were really even all that spicy.
Been going every other month or so since I first tried their food. Never disappointed, always worth the price. The Mac of the Week is usually pretty great, and gives me a reason to check in and see what they have pretty regularly.
The only downside is because it's so good, it draws quite a crowd. Make sure to bundle, because you're likely going to be outside for a bit.
We love it! I wish they had a 30 and up can buy at 9 pm night because they open so late. Hard to stay up that late when you’re a parent!
They once again have tacos and burritos on the regular menu... the best tacos/burritos on the Palouse.
Breakfast Mac is gone, though. ?
The pizza mac and the chipotle mac are my favorites.

Everyone says how good the Mac and cheese is but honestly I was soooo disappointed. I ordered the 5cheese Mac and cheese and honestly it was so dry and bland I barely had more than a few bites. I also ordered chicken tacos with no slaw and got slaw anyways on it. Was definitely disappointed as this was so hyped up
Anyone leaving bad reviews is doing so out of spite. Their food is so damn good.
