We always love stopping at The Shady Nook on our way through town. We were disappointed this time.We ordered Old Fashioned's for $12 and there was hardly any booze in the drinks. I don't mind paying that price, but I want a decent drink.We sat at the bar, the overhead lights were too bright and the rap music was not conducive to dining.The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. My assessment is that it lacks oversight or proper management.

We have become somewhat regular customers due to Jessey's service in the bar and the very good food that offers good variety. Surprisingly for me, I have not landed on just one item that I always order as there are many good options.

New owners, not impressed with the food. $61 for a prime rib dinner and Mac and cheese. The prime rib was pitiful. Small and over cooked. Lots of grizzlies and tons of fat. Baked potato was big and good. Three small asparagus spears, good but too little a portion. Salad was tasty. Macaroni and cheese was a good portion and very creamy. I will not go there again, prices too high for what you get

Took a little day trip to explore and found this awesome place to stop for dinner. We were VERY pleased with our experience. The steamed clams were a crowd pleaser and we couldn’t get enough of the sauce. I even used the sauce to dress my mashed potatoes! I got the chicken cordon bleu for my entree and it was delicious. The country fried steak was also a great dish. Highly recommend eating here!
