We had a great experience with terrific food. All eight of us enjoyed what we ordered. The only quibble was with the noise, but that was because of a private party that had reserved half of the available seating ... and the rest of the tables were full as well.
The only issue we had was that we had a reservation for six people and when we arrived at our reservation time, we were informed that we would be seated but there would be a long wait before our service could begin. After about 30 minutes, one of the wait staff came by to say it might be much longer but he was not our waiter. We indicated that it had already been a very long wait and asked him to see if we could get service soon. He checked with the reception desk and came back...
As usual, our meal at Gretchen's was outstanding. My husband had the halibut special and side Caesar and I had my favorite meal which is stir fry vegetables and cashews with chicken. Desert was a decadent chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Gretchen's is our favorite restaurant in Sun Valley.
