My son and I went tonight for the first time. The cabbage rolls with mushroom sauce was incredible. My son had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, he kept saying how good it was. The service was wonderful, and we loved the outdoor setting. I’ll be taking my husband soon, what a great find. Easily one of my new favorite places to eat.

I am from Knoxville Tennessee and i came to visit my friends in Algonquin. First time eating here and I absolutely enjoyed it!! Our server was Megan, and she was amazing. We enjoyed a great lunch here! The pierogis were absolutely delicious, we got mushroom & sauerkraut and the potato & cheese. The grilled chicken sandwich was great and the coleslaw was actually some of the best I’ve ever had. The fries were hot and crispy. The beet salad is fresh and flavorful. The coffee was amazing also! The staff was friendly and attentive. The place is very clean and nice.

So relaxing! The coffee is amazing, dessert crepes are full of flavor, and the view from any table outside is an experience in itself. We can hear on a lunch date on a weekday and it was really quiet. I had the Avocado Salad and my husband really enjoyed the Philly Cheesteak Sandwich. You’ve also got to try the lavender lemonade! 💜💜💜

Cozy restaurant with excellent food. Salad had fresh ingredients- no half wilted, cheap iceberg lettuce 😁 staff was friendly and accommodating.
Service was not good. Waited over 20min to even get our drink order. Then waitress wanted us to order food right then and there. Then when it came time to pay the waitress was no where to be found. The staff was rude and just on their phones not paying attention. Food was okay but not that great. The prices were way over priced as well. $80 for two people and we didnt even get any alcohol. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend going here. Which is very disappointing since it’s the only Polish restaurant in the area.

There is no shortage of places to eat in McHenry County, but my wife and I wanted to try something we have not been to before, and some new food selections. We chose Algonquin as our destination and settled on Garden on Main. We could not have been more pleased with our decision. Our server Megan was fantastic. We chose the Summer Burrata appetizer and the Polish Platter so we could try a little of everything and we were not disappointed. The Summer Burrata was a full plate of tomato slices, a large portion of burrata cheese and 4 toast wedges. You could tell it was all fresh and of high quality. The Pierogi's were amazing, especially the sauerkraut filled one. The Potato Pancake was crisp on the outside, tender inside and not greasy. The Polish Sausage with Braised Cabbage was fantastic and the Cabbage Roll was delightful. We left full with our tummy's very happy. We look forward to future visits to the outside seating area which includes a bar and a firepit. Garden on Main will be on our repeat list for sure.
