Village Vintner Winery & Brewery

In the past, we've had really great experiences here, and while it's often been busy, we really haven't left with complaints, but this particular evening was a completely different scenario. We made reservations, but when we got there, the place was mostly empty. We were seated quickly, and within a few minutes, our server came over, but we needed a few more minutes before deciding on drinks and food, but it seemed like a while before she was back again. We placed food and drink orders together, and the drinks came quickly, but then our food was nowhere to be seen. From the time of our reservation (we were there on time, if not early) to being served our food, it was 45 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant, and we only ordered burgers. I asked for no cheese on my veggie burger, and it came out with none of the other standard toppings either, and my boyfriend's cheeseburger was completely overcooked. This was so unlike any experience we've ever had there that we even asked the server if there was a problem. (We were seated near the kitchen, and it did seem like maybe the kitchen staff was out of their element.) Needless to say, we'll give it some time before we go back again, sorry to say.

Very busy when we arrived @ 6:30 on Saturday night. Long wait for waitress. Ordered drinks and entrees. Drinks arrived after a reasonable time. Then a wait of 40+ minutes for the waitress to return and inform us that our rib order was not available (sold out). Ordered something else. Another long wait for a sub-par Philly cheese steak. Asked for the manager who defended poor experience to being busy. Did offer discount on our bill. We won't be back.

 As usual, the food was great, the service fantastic, and the wine amazing. This continues to be like Cheers where everybody knows your name.

Always exceptional! Great wines. Wonderful atmosphere. Great staff. Keep up the good work.

Food was terrible, wine undrinkable & beer mediocre & flat. Took forever to get served 2 beers.

My friend and I really enjoyed the Mexican Pappardelle. We had some issues with food our last 3 times there, but Montana, our waiter, remembered us and make sure the food arrived hot. I enjoyed the Petite Syrah, which won an award at the Illinois Fair.. Service from Montana was great, too.

Cool place, expected more. The food and service is lacking. Dumped half of our pizza on the table and said "sorry" and then picked it up with their barehands. Tasted like it afterwards. Food was step below bar food but the beer was good.

We came in for lunch and the Cheryl Rodey show. The the food, drinks & wine were amazingly delicious! We got everting spaced out as we enjoy the music, which was fantastic. I hope she comes back soon! Montana was a superb server. Thanks for a great afternoon!

It was only loud because of the great live music, Pino Farina and his fans. Other times the sound level is lower. But the pizza, greek salad and cheese board were all excellent. And we really enjoyed the Reisling and the Pinot Noir we ordered. Service is great too! Join their Wine club for some good benefits!

The service was superb allowing us to enjoy our wine, appetizers, and dinner without feeling rushed. The food tasted amazing.

Always happy with the pizza from here. Went home with 2 bottles of wine and the service was great!

Food wasn't bad, but far from good. Service was so slow. Ended up being a 3 hour lunch due to the waiting. Took forever to get our order in, get our food, get the bill, and get someone to take our bill. Waited for 20 minutes for my wife's food, they finally came over and said they messed it up and had to redo it. Waited another 10 minutes. She ended up eating alone. Food was very expensive! Overall good was fine but when compared to price, it was well below the price point. Won't be going back. Kind of ruined Mother's Day for my mom.

The food and especially the wines are always top notch. I also can't say enough about our wait staff--they went above and beyond!

Excellent food and a waitress that exceeded expectations repeatedly! She was super helpful and so friendly! I'm sad that I didn't catch her name, because she deserves to be recognized.

Janet and the VV crew are great and so is the wine (it's better than the place across the street!)!
