Very good Mexican food for being in Illinois. If you can't stand tough onions, make sure to tell them to leave the onions off. That's completely not a knock on them, I didn't put my dentures in before I went in and the onions were a little tough. That's absolutely my fault.
Food was good service was quick an portions are generous.
Best shrimp quesadilla I’ve ever had. Seasoned perfectly, flavorful, and juicy. They also have the best queso blanco! My boyfriend ordered a steak quesadilla and loved it as well. Not the biggest portion but the flavors won’t let you down. I would recommend this place!

The lighting might be too bright, but the music creates a pleasant atmosphere. Fabio, the server, is attentive and friendly. Overall, El Rancherito offers delicious food in a cute and clean setting, making it a great choice for a meal out.
