I do hope Veritá is only temporarily closed. Here I've had one of the best Italian dining experiences; savvy dishes made it like a Top Chef 4 course. I'll check the Facebook page for updates on new openings.

First time customer today, almost wish I hadn't went. Food excellent, place spotless, owner friendly. This is going to be painful on the waistline...

Once a year, my husband and I travel to Batavia for the holidays. One of the highlights is our dinner at Verita. Great food with unique flavors. The staff are attentive and the decor is cozy. It is well worth the price.

It’s so funny how different people see things differently. My table was next to the family that brought in their own cake without first checking with the restaurant. They were rude, left a mess, and broke a glass. I’d be happy if I never dined near them again.

Celebrating a birthday, brought a cake. The woman said it was NOT ALLOWED, ok fine, but how the owner spoke to me was beyond disrespectful. She just repeatedly said order from the dessert menu and spoke to us rudely. She then told me I couldn’t speak about being upset while with my family, will not be returning

Very disappointed by how the owner spoke to me. Last year we brought our own cake for my birthday, so I made my mom a cake for her birthday. The owner told us this was not allowed. Ok, I can respect a rule change, however, I was spoken to SO RUDELY, and repeatedly shoved the dessert menu while yelling at me in front of customers, ruining a birthday celebration. She then told me that I couldn't speak to my dad about how I was spoken to and told me she "was not rude", not apologetic or sympathetic to the situation. We celebrate numerous occasions here previously and have recommended due to their gluten free options, will no longer go this establishment.

I eat in this spot a lot since I work right next to it. I like how their service is always awesome and they keep the place well kept at all times. Pricing is affordable and they serve big portions.

One of the best dinning experiences I've had in a long time. I had the chief's choice with 6 appetizers, a pasta dish and dessert. Everything that was brought to the table was just amazing. If your looking for a romantic night out, make this place your number one stop.

The food is beyond delicious, our server was friendly and funny on top of being very knowledgable about the menu and the allergy warnings. The decor is soooo beautiful and unique! I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out in the suburbs!

Was not impressed by the most basic handmade pasta dish they have. Great location for a date night, but let down by the quality. Will check out again, but weary of outcome.

AMAZING! The food is consistently wonderful! They cater to food preferences as well. We are GF and they make almost everything for us. The martinis are wicked good. The service is always great. So happy to have this restaurant in our little town

How could I wait that long to discover this gem of Italian cuisine!!! Every single serving coming from the open kitchen was more splendid then the previous one. My husband's Braised beef short ribs with scallops seared in the oven and finished with truffle au jus were simply majestic with its unusual combination of two perfectly complimenting each other flavors. My wild Scottish salmon also coming from the wood fired oven had a perfect slightly crunchy top layer hiding inside the marvelously melting in the mouth cooked to perfection fish laying on the top of the creamy-ginger sauce accompanied with roasted broccoli and sautéed spinach. Outstanding! The culminating point of this gourmet evening was Almond semifreddo, tableside flamed with chocolate rum sauce. Such a sublime desert, as a flying carpet, transports you directly to Sicily, where it was originated, with its rich almond flavor. Everything in this restaurant is made in house from bread to gelato and limoncello. The quality of our meal surpassed the price, a rare occasion in the restaurant business. Bravo, restaurant Veritá!!! We will be back soon! I highly recommend!
