“I had a great time at La Parra! It's located in Berwyn and has street parking that I had no trouble finding right in front of the restaurant. They're known for their creative cocktails which they feature on their Instagram page. The staff right away were super friendly and welcoming and our waiter did a nice job of reviewing their current special cocktail menu. I ordered the "mezcalito" I believe he called it, which was made with mezcal, lime juice, and fresh fruit juices (I know one was passion fruit!). This drink was amazing and so up my alley since I loveee mezcal and anything fresh and sweet. The overall atmosphere felt casual and comfortable. Tapas are on the menu so shared meals are encouraged. I ordered the chicken a la limon but I swapped the mashed potatoes for crispy Yukons. The potatoes were pretty good and the chicken was cooked well. I wasn't entirely blown away with what I ordered, but it was a good meal and the drinks and service were definitely 5-star worthy“

“Ordered take out. Food tasted good. The Monses pancakes have a great presentation and taste! Order was prepared very quickly. I was missing the toppings for the regular waffle order. Would definitely order again. The interior is nice as well.“

“It’s a great spot for a variety of craft beers on tap, and the ambience is lovely as well. The menu is nice, but it’s a little more pricey than you might expect out of a craft beer spot. That said, I agree on the prices listed after trying the dishes offered. The short rib is delicious, as well as the chicken sandwich. The service did leave a little to be desired, I kind of felt like I was looking around for the individual waiting on the section I was seated in, but overall it has always been a pleasant experience. I would bring guests here maybe the second or third time they visited me in Chicago. Not a first draft pick to represent the city, but it’s a nice place to feel like you’re part of the scene here.“

Great tapas! Love, love, loved the Pulpo a la Planxta, the Patatas Barillos and the Melon con Jamon Serrano. The Mariscos Paella was good, but I missed the crispy bottom rice. Nice little place. Great menu that lights up. It’s BYOB, and fortunately there is a store across the street that has wine! If you forget to bring your own. Have already recommended it to others.“

Here’s what I tried: Tempting Bon Bon Chicken Fiery Spicy Fries Delights Hot & Sour Fern Root Noodles Wholesome Wonton Chicken Soup Single Choice Hot Pot w/imitation crab meat Three Cannons ChengDu Osmanthus Cake Mango Soda Drink 芒果少女心 The Bon Bon Chicken was my favorite! It was so many flavors at once with the chili oil, soy sauce, slight sweetness and sesame oil. The Wonton chicken soup is so warm and comforting and the dumplings are made in house. I love how airy and modern the space is; there is room for big groups - which I really like. Put them on your list to visit and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!“

“YOOOO the gilty pig is insane! They have "popped up" at my farm a few times now, and each time I am amazed by the flavors and complexity they bring to "simple dishes". They take a brat and turn it into a full asian inspired meal. Now if the food wasnt enough, this truck could not be run by two better people. “The food here is well seasoned and filling when dishes are shared in a group in true tapas fashion. The tasty food and sangria complement the warm setting perfect for date night or any evening out with friends. I went with two friends on a Wednesday evening and sat at the bar as we didn't have a resv, and the bartender waited on us like we were at a table. It was a truly pleasurable dining event.“

“I’ve been here a couple times and it keeps getting better. If you went when they first opened you must return for an experience devoid of all the opening jitters , now with impeccable hand roles with Crispy nori for the perfect crunch. The nigiri pieces of Ora king salmon and chutoro were very tasty. The sake pours are generous and the highballs are delicious. Don’t miss out on highball and hand roll happy hours form 5-6 on wed, thur, and Friday! Overall a great Japanese experience for sushi, nigiri, hand rolls ( which are hard to come by) , and perfect highballs! There’s more to offer but I’ll have to wait until next time to try.“

“This place is within walking distance from my house, so I decided to check it out tonight. The menu is small but the food was good and it was quite busy when we left. I took my daughter, who is 16. It was fine for her, but I wouldn't recommend taking a younger child there.“

“Small space. Enjoyed the music. We had one server who served the whole restaurant and was the bartender. Surprisingly service was still efficient. Tortilla española was delicious. However the portion size was too small for the price and was served with a ridiculous amount of green coated with a vinaigrette. Delicious for sure, but if I want a salad, I'll order a salad. Give me a larger portion of tortilla for that price. Meatballs (albóndigas) were tasty. My daughter loved the octopus. I enjoyed the paella. Perfectly sized for 2-3 people. My margarita had too much ice which gave me less drink for the price. Overall excellent food. I will definitely come back.“

“I have hosted two events at Barcocina West Town and they have both been outstanding. The team was very easy to work with pre-event to coordinate. Day of, they had everything ready and were very attentive to our needs. The servers and bartenders were exceptional and provided incredible service. “Good neighborhood bar. Food is better than the average bar in the area, but somewhat expensive. I personally recommend the Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Sandwich tossed in GSP sauce, which is basically a spicy BBQ sauce. The chicken tenders are also very good and are beer battered which is a plus. If you're a football fan the games are always on, it's a Ravens bar.“

“Service was good. Ambiance was on point. The shishito pepper was recommended by the waiter but I didn't enjoy it. My favorite was the beef short rib. Overall, the taste wasn't worth the price. We ended up eating more at a different place afterwards.“

“If you haven't been here what are you waiting for? This place has such a creative menu with unique but approachable food and drinks, excellent service and a really cool vibe. The prices are very reasonable especially for what the menu has to offer. They have a great brunch on weekends. Happy hour and half off wine Wednesdays are also a great time to go. They also have a private event space in their deli shop which is adjacent to the restaurant. Be sure to check out the subs and salads in the deli shop and also consider hosting a private event in the event space which holds up to 40 people.“

“A large group went to La Tequileria for dinner and a tequila tasting. The tequila that was served was unbelievable. The selection, the presentation and the service were all top notch. The food (especially the ceviche tostada and the tacos) was unbelievable. The atmosphere was fantastic .... and there's live music as well.Overall a perfect night. “Love this place! Their patio is definitely something you don’t want to miss out in the summer, it has games, hammocks and pickle ball! During the fall time they light up the fire pits and have s’mores. A great place to watch sports too. I highly recommend to go for brunch too the food is great and has a great variety!“

“Love Figo! The service, food and wine have always been amazing every time we go. This is the first time we visited during new Covid protocols and I was impressed. The private tents they have outside were spacious and the heaters were fantastic (it was about 38-40 degrees the evening we were there and all stayed very content). Looking forward to the Bluetooth speakers they will be adding. The services is always great. We were not sure which wine we wanted (as they have many terrific options and wines we have never tried), and the manager allowed us to have a couple samples. We ended up getting two different bottles and both were so good. The dates and tortellini are must when dining here as well! If you are looking for a nice day or evening out and still want to feel safe, 100% recommend Figo.“

“Came here on a Saturday just for the high tea service with a friend. This is my first time visiting the Drake hotel in Oakbrook ever as well as the colonial room. What I love is that parking was very easy and very free. The ambience as soon as you walk in of the hotel is very modern with some classical traditional touches. The place overall is very impressive and a great place to host probably have meals as well as even parties. I will say the tea service itself was good and decent, but it wasn't impressive. Meaning I thought that for two people they would mirror all of the food offerings however that was not the case. Also, I felt that the food offering, especially for the savory items was quite limited. There were only nine choices. However, the choices were all loose leaf tees, which was great. The high tea also includes a free glass of champagne, which is always a nice touch. The place are absolutely beautiful and take great photographs. A stand out from the entire experience was definitely the staff which includes the waiter and the support partners that he had. They were super attentive and friendly, which always makes for a good experience. I think for the price and for what you get it was a little short and I will continue to try out high teas to find just the right one.“
