“Great birthday dinner! We chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. We are glad we did. The chicken and steak fajitas were some of the best we ever had. Tender and flavorful. Rice was very good. Beans were thin but had a great taste. Lime margarita was ok. I wasn't a fan of the mix they used. We ordered guacamole but they forgot to bring it. When we tasted it with the fajita sides we were glad we didn't get the order. I was not a fan.\n\nOverall the fajitas were so good, we will be back if we are ever in the area.“

“This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The Chilaquilles are a mainstay and will feed you for several meals.

One of my primary barometers of a Mexican restaurant are the rice and beans. If a restaurant can't get those right, it's not a great sign. Not insurmountable, but it's a deciding factor in my choice. El Porton has rice and beans that would be on my last meal.“

It offers the same items as many of the other Mexican restaurants, and the ones I have tried so far are pretty good, so you can't really go wrong if you have a favorite dish on the menu.
