“My mom and I like to meet at wineries/ wine bars once a month that halfway for us (parents live in Crystal Lake and I live in LaSalle). Goat and Vine was an excellent restaurant with delicious food and a variety of top notch wines! On top of that, our server made our first time experience that much better; I highly recommend!!“

Barrel & Heritage Winery •
21 West Jefferson Avenue, Naperville - 6.6 miles

“I can’t believe I’ve lived in Naperville for 6 years and only JUST discovered Barrel & Heritage! This is truly one of downtown Naperville’s hidden gems, especially if you love whiskey or are interested in learning more about it.

What impressed me most is their focus on smaller, local and harder-to-find distilleries and bottles that you simply aren’t going to find sitting on the shelf at your typical liquor store. They even have a whiskey connected to one of the original founders of WhistlePig, which gives you an idea of the unique selections they’re able to bring in.

We tried several bourbons and ryes that easily landed in my top 10 I’ve ever had, and a couple could honestly be top five. What shocked me even more were the prices. Some of these bottles are a fraction of what you would expect to pay at a liquor store for whiskey of this quality.

Their Whiskey Club is also an unbelievable value. Membership ranges from around $50–$100 per quarter and includes a bottle each quarter, along with tastings, events and opportunities to discover some really unique whiskeys. I honestly couldn’t believe how affordable it was.

A huge part of what made our experience so great was John Beckman, the store manager and a Certified Bourbon Steward. John is fantastic at teaching you about what you’re tasting while also figuring out your individual flavor profile. Instead of simply telling you what’s “good,” he helps you understand what you like and why, and then introduces you to bottles that fit your palate. He’s incredibly knowledgeable without ever making the experience feel intimidating or pretentious.

They also have wine, so there’s plenty to explore even if whiskey isn’t your thing.

I walked in having no idea this place existed and left excited to become a Whiskey Club member. I still can’t believe such a great place has been less than a mile from me all these years! Amazing whiskey, incredible value, knowledgeable people , local events and such a fun experience. I’m already looking forward to going back. 🥃“

NexTerra Wine Company Winery •
9016 Murphy Rd, Woodridge - 2.24 miles

“I had look at reviews for directions. Some where helpful some where confusing. So let me tell you how to get here with a tractor/trailer . When on I-55 get off Lemont Rd south. Travel about 1/4 mile turn right on 101 street. Which is a light on the introduction. Once you make a right you’ll see a sign saying 5 ton limit local delivery only . (You’ll be fine) Then you’ll make a right turn on Woodward st . Again you’ll see a sign 5 ton truck limit. Again you’ll be fine your doing a local delivery. Then once you go over I-55 turn left on 1st street . Adam Don Parkway. You’ll see a yellow sign on the left hand side. Follow Adam Don parkway to dead ends at intersection. At intersection turn left on Murphy road . Follow Murphy road to the 3rd driveway on your left hand side (just passing a fence that divides 2 companies )and pull in. Check in by dock 25. And they unload you in no time . Took 45 minutes to unload a container. I won’t mind coming back . Just remember when you see the signs 5 ton limit local delivery only . You be fine . That’s the only way to get here . They have low clearance metal poles on Murphy road off Woodward street. So don’t try it .“
