We usually have great experiences at Irish Times but stopping in for lunch today just didn’t hit the mark. Wife ordered the smash burger which is supposed to come with a “thick bacon shmear”. It didn’t seem like anything was on the burger that could be considered a thick bacon shmear. The burger wasn’t a smash burger. Back when I lived in the area, Irish Times had just opened and I stopped in to have a Guinness. Now, I have had Guinness all over the Chicago area and never has a Chicago pint ever approached the magical, otherworldly flavor of a pint consumed in Ireland.
