We live in Oak Park, but repeatedly make the trek out to Taste of Tokyo for date nights and family gathering. Every time we have gone, we eat more than we should because it was just so good. The sushi comes on boats, but you can still make special requests from chefs. Everyone there is friendly and makes the resturant feel very cozy. The torched slamon and scallops are a huge hit amongst my family. We definitely will continue to make the journey here. It is more than worth it and very reasonably priced.

Fantastic food, great service all around. Much better quality and freshness than any other revolving sushi place I've been to. I also like that you just ask the chefs that are in the kitchen directly in front of you for what you'd like (if its not in the lineup) and they make it for you, no waiting for a server! Also very unique options that you won't see nearly anywhere else. Highly recommended!

Staff is very nice and accommodating. Make good conversation. Food is nice. The boats that transport the sushi is a cool concept!

Our first time here, and we are absolutely shocked at how amazing this place is. I’m surprised the prices aren’t higher with how much quality and the freshness of every item they serve has, other rotary sushi bars cannot compare to Taste of Tokyo. The service was super friendly, would go out of their way to double check each customer received their order all while consistently pushing out rolls and nigiri for the unending appetite the crowd had. Very clean, will be returning and recommending this location, and highly recommend the Torched Salmon.

If you want the very best sushi go to Taste of Tokyo! We can’t say enough about how nice, friendly, and creative the owners and their staff are! If they don’t have something on their sushi menu that you want, then just ask! And they will gladly make it! If you want to relax with comfortable seats, great background music, reasonable prices, then visit Taste of Tokyo! If you love to support small businesses in your community then visit Taste Of Tokyo! We are just so grateful for them and their Great Foods!

This was the first time my husband and I were there. Our son and his wife have been there many times! The food is excellant. The people, who work there, were very helpful, answering our questions! I would recommend this place.

Way too expensive for the quality and portion size. Unfriendly staff and long waiting times. They hardly ever came to check on my table and weren’t very hospitable when they did. Overall bad experience and would not recommend to anybody.

Low quality sushi, Go to a modern rotary sushi restaurant bc this place is prime example l of why small businesses are failing. same quality food as kura sushi or an all u can eat sushu but with a steeper price. Vibe is dank, service is too pushy, and again prices are so high. $2.65 for a plate with 1 peice of sushi?! be so real.

This place was a rip off.$ 3.65 for one plate of sushi that has 1, 2, or 3 pieces of sushi. Diabolical prices. They put PLASTIC wrap over the wasabi and ginger that they place on the boats that float. The jalepano roll made my stomach hurt because it was deep fried., servers and staff could be viewed as “friendly” or just simply overstepping their boundaries no social etiquette. How could they ask if I was paying and then double down by calling me a high schooler? There is no way the server just “glanced” at our plates in front of us to count the dishes. It is not an accurate way to count and could have flaws. Its not like those rotary sushi places where a machine counts the plates. If i could i would give zero stars.

I stumbled upon Taste of Tokyo, a small family-run sushi spot, and I’m so glad I did. It truly is one of those hidden gem places that you immediately want to tell everyone about — but also kind of want to keep as your own secret.

The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly — you can tell it’s a family business because there’s a real sense of pride and care in everything they do. They greet you like you’ve been coming in for years.

The sushi itself is fresh, simple, and delicious — no unnecessary flash, just quality ingredients prepared well. Every roll we tried tasted clean and well-balanced. You can tell they really care about what they’re serving.

If you’re looking for a laid-back place with genuinely good sushi and a warm, personal touch, Tokyo is absolutely worth a visit. It’s the kind of place you end up returning to again and again. 🍣✨
