““Ozzie” was our waiter and he was amazing. Everyone was kind and professional, from the hostesses at the front desk to the bus persons/helpers for the wait staff. In addition, the ambiance “hit the right note”.My husband and I were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and Ozzie acknowledged this special occasion and so did “Morgan”. My husband and I also received a very kind gift/gesture which added a nice surprise to our night. Thank you very much, Morgan.We were seated in a nice location where we could really enjoy ourselves and focus on each other, while still being able to engage with those around us and take in the scenery.Overall, the food was great and the desserts (beignets and sweet potato cheesecake) were delicious; light and not too sweet or dense. “A southside soul food staple that has been in the Chatham neighborhood for a long while now. Lots of love goes into the food, portions are hearty and the rotation menu served is flavorful. Stopped in with a friend on Friday (Restaurant is only open Fri, Sat, and Sunday til 6pm everyday). We were greeted by a nice lil lady @ the door which directed us on how to order and pay. She then seated us after we got our food. I had a great lunch. Smothered Pork chops were so delicious. Black eyed peas and rice had that soul up in it. My only complaint was that the okra side could've had a lil bit longer in the pot. Everything else from the service to the food was fantastic. The decor is a bit dated tho but I'm fine with it. Thumbs up to this place and kudos to the staff for the experience.Vegetarian options: Sides??♂️. Nothing else is really vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Soul food. U might get the Itis.Parking: The lot is small. Only big enuff for maybe 8 to 10 cars. U may have to pay to park. “I really like the food. I am very busy so some days I do not have time to cook. I prefer paying for a full course meal than a bag meal. I love that I can order vegetables and that tastes good. It was impossible for me to find great tasting vegetables in a restaurant. I order food weekly because of my business schedule. I definitely would recommend this location.“
“I've been ordering for some months now. My absolute fav is the catfish Fillets, always fried perfectly & tasty yum. My better half likes the Cabbage & Pork Chops. You must have a slice of Lemon Cake snd they don't skimp on the slice.“
“I ordered from Uber eats so I didn’t deal with any of the staff directly, but the food was pretty good. I had the jerk salmon with Mac and greens as sides. The macaroni was delicious. The salmon was really good too but I felt like it needed some sauce since it was a little on the dryer side. The greens were salty and nothing special in my opinion.“
