“Food was amazing! First time having birria tacos amazing experience I loved it! The chicken street tacos amazing! Everything was seasoned so good the Diablo sauce was very spicy and good. The corn was my daughter’s favorite! Definitely coming back again.“
“The only reason it’s 4 starts instead of 5 is that it’s PRICEY! 2 adults and a 4 year old, and we were over $100 all-in for lunch. Two entrees, one appetizer, one kids meal, and one margarita. Super tasty tho, and amazing service and vibe. Can’t do $100+ lunches often, though “
“Very good food, homemade salsa and good chips and Queso that is NOT watered down. But you have to find it!Great burritos and nice shrimp and chicken dish plus drink specials. They also have Taco Tuesdays with 0.99 cent tacos grilled or fried.Recommended local place!Kid-friendliness: Games and a fun atmosphere for bambinos.“
“Went on a date here Thursday night at the Kirkwood location. I was pleasantly surprised, with the restaurant, not the woman I met there. Wait staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was very good as well. I had the Taos taco, beans and rice, and we shared chips, salsa, and guacamole. The guacamole was excellent!! Funny moment when I asked for their spiciest hot sauce they had, the server came back with a thimble of hot sauce?! I looked at it confused and started laughing. I was going to ask for more but she had left. Would have liked a bit more than a hummingbird's beak worth of hot sauce, but, it was good. Seriously, for any churchgoers, you would get more wine at communion/mass. Finally, the ambiance was perfect. Not crowded in, it was open and not too warm or cold. We sat on the patio which was enclosed. I am sorry to the other patrons when we came in there was a bit of a chill...that was just my date...frigid...sorry. Oh well, I'll dry my tears and learn to love again . I may even bring a date here again!! Thanks!!“
“Lily's Panaderia has been open for many years. If you are a loyal customer or have visited the bakery, You’ll recall the old location being small and cozy. Their new location offers more space for customers to enjoy their freshly baked treats alongside a cup of coffee to start the day. If you like a savory treat, I would recommend the bread with cream cheese and jalapeño. For the sweet treats, I would recommend the conchas. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real authentic Mexican bread here in STL. Lily’s panaderia always excels in taste and presentation too.“
“First time visiting El Potro, had the enchiladas with mole and 3 tacos dinner Al pastor and carne asada. Everything from the service to the food was great. The owner and staff are super nice!! Will definitely go back , next time will try the molcajete.“
“Small place. We try to time it so we're there before or after the lunchtime rush, 1130-1230. We have tried several items on the menu, and our favorites are the steak quesodillas and any of the tostados. I love their hot and mild sauces and appreciate that they keep the bottles refridgerated, not sitting on the tables all day.“
“I love the food. However, I just realized they charge 15% gratuity on carry out orders. I just paid $15 to have my food put in a plastic bag. And I always tip for carry out, not knowing until today that I'm tipping on top of the 15% they've already added.“
“If you're looking for genuine Mexican cuisine that won't dent your budget, this is the place for you. The wait staff was friendly and provided helpful suggestions for the menu. I went for my favorite, the asada tacos, and they were truly delicious. The salsa was also noteworthy. I intend to return and explore more items on the menu. All in all, it was a fantastic experience.“
“Really nice place inside. Don't know what the bar looked like because we didn't go in. I have heard people say that it's pricey and of course it is because this isn't your average Mexican restaurant. The menu is small plate oriented and the menu ismore like a tasting menu. The food is higher end than all the other places and outstanding. I can't comment on their drink menu because I seldom drink when going out. I will say that the pricing seem to be a bit higher than most places which will account for a higher per person ticket if one has two or three drinks. Still, our total was $70 ore tip for 2 people including 2 beers. The wait time between "courses" is a bit long but not enough for me to really complain about. The staff were friendly dmv knowledgeable about the menu. It may not me a place we'll go to monthly but we will definitely be back!“
“First...loved our waiter. Very friendly and attentive. Awesome tasting margaritas. Loved the guacamole. Both our dinners were delicious....and plenty. Took home the rest. And the cost was more than reasonable. The margaritas were $6.99 a piece...very cheap and my beer was about $4.00 a piece. The entrees were under $15.00. Definitely will be back.“
“This place is a hidden gem! To start off, the chips were so thin and had tajin on them. The salsa was so yummy and fresh! I got the shrimp enchiladas, which were a special that day, and they were the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. My jalapeño margarita was also delicious. Also, the restaurant is cute and chic not like your typical Mexican restaurant atmosphere! Will definitely be back soon!“
“One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever tried. Excellent burritos, fajitas, and amazing mole sauce, verde, and salsa. They also make a very spicy ?️ salsa if you ask. The meat is very tender, moist, and seasoned very well. Huge portions for food for a very reasonable price! This is a must stop place to eat! Super nice people with excellent service and awesome food!“
“We came to El Milagro for National Margarita Day and liked it so much that we returned with friends three days later. On our first visit, we got the steak tacos and the birria tacos. We thoroughly enjoyed both dishes as well as the margaritas. I was a big fan of the Strawberry Basil Margarita. We had good service, even with a group of 6 of us. The restaurant has a cute vibe, and I'm excited for the patio to open up because it looks like a great place for a patio happy hour. This will definitely be one of our go-to Mexican spots going forward!“
“That was the BEST Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been too!!! They filled up our chips and salsa three times before we could reach the bottom of the container! Same with the drinks. Me and my group thought that the food couldn’t be better than the salsa but when it came out everyone agreed that it was the best Mexican food we’ve ever had.“
“If you’re looking for a DELICIOUS & AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant then this is place to go. The tacos and salsa here are amazing. The only thing stopping me from eating 10 tacos was the price. They are little pricey but for the quality and flavor of the food I can live with it. If you’re looking for another generic Mexican restaurant that serves chicken and rice smothered with cheese with no spice then this isn’t the place for you.“
“Beautiful place. Drinks were great and fast. We'll totally come back to hang out on the patio. They were very busy when they were there and it took a long time to get seated. It also took a very long time to order so just make sure you have allotted yourself when you go. The food was okay pretty standard. I had the carnitas which was pulled. Not typical so it was just a pile of meat on the plate. Drinks were great and fast!“
“Available for dine in, carry out and on Uber eats. Delicious authentic steet tacos with varying protein options. Nothing vegan sorry. But you can do no meat and get a quesadilla or torte w just cheese for vegetarian. I've tried almost all the meats. The lengua is soooo good if you're feeling adventurous. Tacos, tortes and quesadilla all delicious. Would rate higher if I could. Best stop in the city for tacos.“
“We love mission Taco. The food is always prepared fresh and healthy. The staff is always kind and helpful. whenever possible we try to dine in because we love the atmosphere and music. We don't always have the time to dine in but order carry out at least once a week and the orders have always been exact. l just mentioned this evening how grateful we are that Mission Taco is around our neighborhood because everything about it is a positive experience. We love Mission Taco!“
“Shrimp Fajitas and Steak Frajitas were delicious, service was excellent. Appetizer chips and guacamole appear to be home made. I'll be stopping here again. Another delicious addition to the offerings on the South end of Grand Blvd. They also have a patio dining area in the works.Parking: A plenty of spots, on the street, they are working on parking around back.Wheelchair accessibility: All at sidewalk level. Easy in and out with wheel chair seating.“
“What can I say? Amazing service. Absolutely feels like a family establsihment that really cares. The food was very good. My only disappointment was sides were either rice or beans. So many restaurants I go to come with both. I just added it as a side, so no biggie. Just an observation. I will go again and again.“
“We’ve not had the luxury of dine in but we will soon! All of the times we ordered have been pick up. The food is great! I always get the same thing: Quesadilla Fiesta, and Chicken Quesadilla. The Quesadilla Fiesta is moist and full with sour cream on the side. Also they serve the tortilla chips n salsa. Salsa is good but a tad spicy. The Chicken Quesadilla is on the dry side so be sure to order sour cream or queso to moisten it up a bit. You will need to request utensils before you leave as it is not a standard item in your to go bag. I eat there about 2-4 times a month, so very good experience!Parking: I am handicapped and sometimes non handicapped people park there to be close to door. So if using a wheelchair, walker or cane, you may be in for a longer walk so that is unfortunate.“
“This place is sooo good!!! The flavor is on point every time and never misses. I have been here months apart and my food was well put together every time, which is rare in my opinion for restaurants. A lot of taco places are bland and tasteless and overly Americanized. This place is well versed in toppings, homemade salsa, and flavor. The owner is very sweet and personable. You have to try the fresh homemade juices.“
“Newish to the area, me and the wife were missing our Mexican down south. We have been hunting around for a good Mexican spot. This is the winner by far!!!!! It means a lot to get great food and service, and El Paso hits the nail on the head!“
“Easily the best Mexican restaurant in St. Louis. Food is seriously incredible (especially the chorizo chimichanga), drinks are delicious and strong, atmosphere is great, staff are very nice, service times even when fully-packed are very fast, and prices are very reasonable and better than other Mexican restaurants in the area. They even include complementary chips and salsa for to-go orders! Highly recommend La Crazy to anyone - my new go-to Mexican restaurant.“
“My husband and I went here for lunch during the week and were very impressed with the food. Well priced and delicious. He ordered carne asada tacos and I had the pollo chipotle with a side of beans. Everything was seasoned well and fresh tasting. The price was also great for what we got. We'll definitely be coming back.“
“Come often and never disappointed. Yesterday had Margarita', chicken wings & cheese dish. Everything was Amazing. The owner always speaks and the staff makes sure everything is to your liking. 1st class & best Mexican is St. Louis.“
“I got lost on the bus… and found my way here.. let me start off by saying this place is a hidden gem. The happy hour goes until 9pm. The puffy tacos are delicious and well seasoned. I needed napkins at one point because I only had one. My only complaint is that they didn’t check on me. They Only asked me if I needed the check. To be fair it was pretty steady traffic for a Wednesday evening. I would definitely still recommend to give it a try if you are interested.“
“This is my wife and I 1st time due to reading the reviews. I ordered the chimichunga and my wife ordered the tilapia. We really enjoyed the food and the chef even came out to ask how was our food. It was great. Also try the cantaloupe water.“
“Hidden gem! Despite being hidden in a rather boring strip mall Cowbron truly stands out as a great Mexican restaurant. It's a relatively new spot, and as I mentioned it's pretty unknown, so don't expect to wait long for a table. I personally have eaten here about 5-6 times and have yet to wait for a table on a Thursday or Friday night. Don't be fooled, they are amazing but quite off the map in terms of nearby restaurants, which is how I account for their low wait times. The food is great! The fajitas are large portions, enough for two to split after a couple baskets of chips and queso, and they have THE BEST CARNITAS I have ever had in my entire life. As a former chef I can definitely speak to this as carnitas are a dish that take time and thoughtfulness to be done great, both of which are evident once you've tried the tender meat on offer here. As a regular to Mariachis II and La Catrina I can tell you that this place has earned a spot in my top 3 favorite Mexican joints in the city. Go to Cowbron!“
“Always packed, always good! Love their tacos and shrimp burritos! They don't charge for chips and salsa (always a plus)! Margaritas are strong and the service is good. Everyone is always nice!Vegetarian options: They will make almost anything on the menu vegetarian and replace the meat with grilled veggies!“
“This place is on par or better with everything ive had. The service is great but can be a bit loud if they've got a band playing which I've only experienced a few times. The chicharron or chilli relleno usually my go to the menudo is great as well.“
“Authentically Mexican! The outside of the restaurant looks shady, the sign is is a spray painted board and there is a boarded up window. But, all staff and customers I saw seemed hispanic. I felt like I was able to have an authentic experience with the food I ordered!“
“I visited Tequila Mexican Restaurant for the very first time this evening and was abundantly pleased..I didn't know what to expect, really, but shared photos convinced me to give them a shot..I would describe this restaurant as a "hybrid" sit down place.. What do I mean?? So, you enter and order at the counter, and then your food is delivered to your table..I ordered two, a la carte al pastor street tacos and a margarita.. The street tacos were divine, and despite my late visit, the ingredients (pork, onions, cilantro, and tortillas) were pleasantly fresh and packed with flavor..The accompanying chips and salsa were a nice touch, and the margarita was quite flavorful..Every member of the staff I interacted with was wonderfully pleasant, and the generous military discount on the food was a nice touch, too!!I will certainly revisit this venue the very next time I visit the Columbia area.. A very clean and niche restaurant with great eats and service!! ?“
“The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the molcajete which was amazing. The price was great for the quantity of food you get. The staff was friendly. I would recommend visiting. The interior of the restaurant is very beautiful decorated.“
“First off, I'm a vegetarian & they had amazing veggie options!! I was so happy!! The food was amazing & the service was great. The wait staff was so nice & I wanted to give our service provider a giant hug.I will say one negative.....the bathrooms were pretty gross. Seemed like they hadn't had a really good cleaning in a bit.“
“Had a great time here with my party of 21! It was a bachelorette birthday party and the energy was great! The staff was incredible, so so efficient , friendly, and FUN. Appreciated the number of vegetarian and gluten friendly options . Great margaritas too! Can’t recommend mas tequila enough!“
“Ok guys let's have a quick talk about Kokes. I'm a first timer here. But I decided on the All American Burger. A burger with egg, cheese, and bacon. Easy. Aaaand wow. Nailed it. Just add some mustard and you've got yourself a sandwich you can't put down. Not to mention the wings and the tamale we had for an appetizer. The surrounding neighborhood does not reflect the atmosphere here. On the way I though, where the hell am I going? Leaving here I know where I'm going again.“
“I have never had Honduran food before visiting Sueño and let me just say...shoutout to the people of Honduras because your food is incredible! I started off with a drink and I ordered the strawberry margarita. Sueño uses a fresh strawberry puree that they make in house and it was literally the best margarita that I've ever had. It was so good that I ordered two of them. lol For my entree, I ordered the Pollo Con Tajadas. It's also known as Pollo Chuco which means 'chicken with slices'. The entrée is made with fried plantains topped with fried chicken, cabbage salad, pico de Gallo salad, onions, and sauces. It was so flavorful and filling! There was nothing but crumbs left by the time I was done eating. lol I will most definitely be coming back to try some other items on the Sueño menu.“
“Best signature margarita ever!! Food is also tasty ?Dietary restrictions: I have a gluten allergy. I always order chicken nachos, which are delicious, and I never get sick.Parking: I can be difficult to find parking but there's a lot of street parking available.“
“The habanero fried chicken is excellent. Very savory and moist. The sides are average at best. Fries are the best of the group. We have only done carry-out so I cannot comment on the atmosphere but the staff is always pleasant. Although we always wait for our telephone order, it is usually no more than 10 minutes.“
“Kid-friendliness: Honestly Judy is the best. Always so kind but today my kid had just had dental work and was extra loopy. Judy responded so sweet to the child in the back seat with her window rolled down who said "HI!!!". When we pulled away my kid yelled one final "HAVE A GOOD DAY!" and Judy heard and yelled back for her to do the same. It's little things like that bringing customers like myself returning. ❤️“
“Food taste is great, would definitely recommend it. We've been there twice and plan to go again. Having said that, the service is good, don't expect them to go above and beyond for you, they can get kind of grumpy if you don't make a decision fast (even if there's no line). Kind of pricey for just a snack type food, and prices are not posted anywhere so they could just tell you whatever price. And.......they only take cash, so stop by an ATM and be prepared.“
“What a great night! A time was had with my friend. This was my first time here and I will be back. So many things I’d love to try. It was absolutely delicious!!! 5 stars to you all! Seasoned perfectly. I had the chicken burrito bowl, which was one of the specials pictured at the register. I also have to say this is by far the best salsa that I have had ever. I ran it as my number one and everyone else will have to live up to it. I will definitely be back. I told the owner this as I walked away to leave. The service was unmatched. Very kind and friendly from start to finish of my visit. .“
“La VallesanaHey! This place is solid. You can count on a freaking awesome plate every time. Tacos, quesadillas, tortas and way more than I'm going to mention here…. My go to is the camerones al diablo (well, currently, anyways) and I have decided that between the quesadilla and the torta, the torta wins. It's the grilled bread with crispy cheese edges and idk how they do it but this is a sandwich that keeps me coming back for more.I've been coming to this place formerly known to myself and others affectionately as The Taco Stand for over a couple decades! It seriously used to be a one room shack on the corner of California and Cherokee. Now the enlarged building multiplies its size by at least 10! The outdoor patio on the corner is larger than the whole joint started out. It's now formatted so you order and seat yourself, which works out well as far as I can tell. And takeout is just as easy. IT DOES GET BUSY, so if you suspect you're in a time crunch you could always go to another spot nearby and grab Mexican at a (potentially) less busy spot.ALL of the Mexican restaurants on Cherokee have great items on their menus and and it's worth exploring all of them to see what you like where. But basically La Vallesana is my go-to when I'm not being particular and maybe want to go be anonymous somewhere. The last thing I have to say about La Vallesana is that you might want to think about dessert first, so you can save room. When you enter, all the house made ice cream and aguas frescas like horchata are also not to be overlooked. Plan ahead.Saturdays seem to be busiest and I am here on a Tuesday after lunch rush, and there's still a steady flow of customers. 5 stars out of 5 here. Glad to support local growth and a minority owned business on Cherokee Street.“
“If you're looking for a place to enjoy a massive margarita on the IL side, then Mariachi's is the spot for you! My go to is the jalapeño margarita. As far as I know this is not on the menu but I just can't get enough spice and it's fantastic every time. Try it out! I've been to this location a handful of times now and the beef chimi has become my "usual". The beef is so well seasoned! If you're not into the chimi, My boyfriend recommends the enchiladas. App wise..The cheese dip is on point and the salsa is great. The service is lightning fast, and the staff remembers their regulars. The indoor seating is ample, but if you prefer some fresh air, their patio is a great option. Plus, they have plenty of space for large groups. Ps-they have a gambling room attached with slot machines. So, after you've stuffed yourself with some tasty Mexican food and a few margaritas, you can try your luck at the slots.“
“The restaurant is great.. food looks great and tastes even better. Mariscos in the STL area. Plates are huge, make sure you come with a good crown to try everything. Music was too loud we couldn’t even talk…I cannot wait to be back again.Great experience ????“
“Food was good. The music was too loud and it took two requests to have it turned down so we could hear each other without hollering.Parking: Not a large lot, only 12-15 spacesKid-friendliness: Children welcomeWheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessibility.“
“I went to Padrinos for a lunch meeting. The server was delightful. She was super friendly and she made excellent suggestions about what to order for lunch that wouldn't be too heavy. She checked on us often. The service was great. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. So, I was able to have a productive meeting without shouting over others. The food was excellent as well. And there was a lot of it. I took home almost half my meal and ate it again for dinner. Overall, great experience! Will definitely dine here again.“
“Had to wait a few minutes longer than us. However the young man who was working always recognizes my voice over the speaker. Whenever there's a problem, which is rare when this young man is working, he ALWAYS makes it right. He is also always pleasant & very polite.“
