“Best bar food ever!! Audrey was our server and she is absolutely amazing!! She ensured we were served promptly, our food was hot and the beers cold!! Hands down, best bar in the area!!”

“A small group of us went last Friday. We all ordered drinks and the Blue Gill Special. The fish was really good and the prices for other items on the menu were reasonable. They have a small salad bar that comes with alot of meals, and this to was simple but nice. The owner found out that this was our first time, and came over to chat. What wonderful customer service. Will definitely be back.”

“For anyone who may have been misinformed. Whistle Stop Cafe in DIAMOND, IL is not closed. It is still thriving and still has great food at even better prices. Yes, there is another restaurant in Canada that closed. Same name, different owners (different family entirely).”

“Went here for lunch because I was in the area and was told that it was a good burger spot. I ordered the regular cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and a Dr. Pepper. I was very impressed with the burger, as it had a large patty with a lot of flavor and two different types of cheese. The bun was also very soft and toasted on one side. I was also quite impressed with the well fried onion rings. The atmosphere in this establishment was quite nice, however it was a bit quiet for my taste. The only criticism I had was that the sodas were sold per can and there was no fountain options. It is also worth mentioning that they only accept cash which was a slight disappointment. Overall worth visiting”

“While at a ball game yesterday in the sweltering heat, just over the horizon I saw it. maybe it was a mirage, my mind playing tricks on me. We set out into the vast expanse of the West Side sports complex. As we were running out of sanity it hit us, it was no trick but rather a delicious treat. The refreshing shaved ice that I have been craving was within reach. After a polite conversation, my taste buds were ecstatic. A frozen treasure. Couldn't think of a better way to cool off. If you see it out and about you will not be disappointed. Also, they have these cool spoons that change color with the temperature.”

“My kids and I were searching for haunted houses to visit on the wrong evening and after we realized they were closed till Halloween . We switched gears and decided to search for cool decorations and on our way out of town I saw an oasis in the evening night! A light up "SWEET" sign caught my eye. What better way to cheer up the kids then some ice cream. We arrived 15 mins before they closed and found out it was the last day opened for the season. The owner patiently provided different samples to my needy children and they settled on their favorites (which was very hard to decide after nearly 4 or 5 samples). We will definitely come back next year.”

“Perhaps it’s the atmosphere that attracts the most. It is a reminder of past times with parents going out for the occasional meal in the neighborhood tavern. This is that local tavern with great meals and friendly service. Fortunately for some, not so for others, the aroma of stale beer and cigarettes has somehow been scrubbed from the building leaving only the smells from a great kitchen. Please understand sullen people need not eat here.”
