We’ve been to Yamato a few times. It’s a small family-run place, and the staff are always friendly. They’ve got some vegetarian and vegan options - sushi rolls, soups, tofu dishes, and more. The inside is really nice, even though you might not guess that from the outside. The food’s always been delicious. I’d definitely recommend it in general and if you’re vegetarian.

The only reason you didnt get 5/5 on the food was the shrimp in the shrimp ramen. The shrimp were unseasoned and just cooked in the broth. That drives zero flavor into the shrimp. Season the shrimp and give them a hard sear before adding them to the broth.
However the ramen broth was great! As was the sushi, hibachi, and hot sake. Will be coming back.
