“I had not been in the Brass Rail in years. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was a great atmosphere and cleaned up to the point where you would certainly take your Mom there, but they kept it authentic and the classic Bar atmosphere. They only have bar pizza, but do yourself a favor and try the cheesy garlic bread. Oh also try the Squint, their “Signature” drink. This will for sure be my new spot when I am in Champaign.“

Turns out, once you check in at the bar, you get a card that you then take to the taps to activate them and pour as little or as much as you want! And you only pay for what you pour!There is no food HOWEVER you can bring in or have food delivered to eat there! If you wanna party, they have a huge space in the back with big mirrors (if anyone claims to have a dance bar and they don’t have mirrors there, they don’t know the business at all) and great DJs and light and music. Good food considering that this is a college town and friendly service too. It’s a good place to meet up with fellow students. Make sure to bring wet wipes as the tables and chairs are sticky, which is expected in a college town.“

“Being a Wednesday night it was quiet but there was a welcoming feel from the moment we walked in. The host was attentive and polite, the room warm and peaceful and our waitperson, Allie was warm, attentive and very helpful. The food was fresh and delicious and generous. We started with the chips and loaded guacamole which you could tell was made fresh with fresh ingredients then we split the grilled chicken sandwich and the burger. Both were delicious with generous servings of fries. We'll definitely be back next time we are in Champaign.“
