“Great staff and really good food. What really stuck with me, though, was the owner’s generosity — he donated to a benefit we held for my friend last year, and I wasn’t even a regular at the time. That kind of support, especially from a business that had only been open a year and a half, says a lot. Total class act. You’ve definitely earned a loyal customer.“

“We hosted a baptism luncheon for about 30 people on the second floor. Our servers were very professional, the service was great, and the food was good! Mary Ann, the Event Manager, was very kind and professional and helpful! The room is very cute with a historic charm. We would definitely recommend hosting your event with the Vogt House/Banging Gavel!“

“Very nice place for a get together. Table, bar and outdoor seating available as well. Has a cozy party room, the bathrooms are very clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. A taco truck rolls in on Fridays which is a plus. Has a great vibe and excellent beer.“

“Awesome other half brewery taproom and restaurant. Good choice of beers on tap and loads of cans in the fridge. Didn't have food but lots of it was coming out and looked good. Had a chat with the owners, all very friendly and so were staff. Its a bit out from downtown chicago, but you can get the number 8 bus for £2 and it stops 100 meters from bar ( see photo )“

Service was great, and accomodated me well with buying merch with cash, though should of used my card 🤣 I had the Cheese Curds and they came with an amazing sauce with a kick of spice. The flight of beers I had was delicious and the brew keep at the bar gave great recommendations! Would visit again.“

I started going there when the owner became a client of the company I was working for in the mid-90s, setting up cash registers in the restaurant he opened for his nephew. I no longer live in Chicago, but make it a point to stop there and speak with the owner every chance I get. Always great food and exceptional service! You may have to wait in line, though. Understandably, it's a very popular place!“
