Mediocre bar. No Long Island? But the margarita on tap it’s pretty decent. It was dead Friday at 6 o’clock. A lot of other better bars in the area in my opinion… used to come here, but I feel like this person went downhill. We left and went to another bar that had $10 Long Island and great music with less abrasive bartenders.
Was assaulted in the bathroom and made to feel it was my fault
Greatl bar but bar tender tonight was rude so removed 2 stars
My partner and I visited last week while exploring neighborhoods in Chicago. We stumbled upon this bar on Monday evening during their Squabble Night. Our bartender, Matt G., was hands down one of the best we've ever had. He was incredibly kind, friendly, and served us some of the best drinks we've ever tasted. We’d definitely come back the next time we’re in Chicago.
tge 2 bears taverns have great locations... the problem is you cant have a neighborhood bar feel when you don't have your favorite neighborhood bartender. they have multiple locations and all their bartenders are constantly shifted between their locations. it's impossible for patrons to build any kind of relationship with the staff... people come for the locations fir convenience and build their relationships w the staff... having this weird round table is like walking into a random bar every night ...theres nothing relaxing about wondering who will be behind your bar from visit to visit somecnights a bartender u like is there 90% of the time it's a crap shoot. it's easy to avoid this by just going to bars where you know who will be there and know you will have a good time and know what the vibe will be. hard to build community based neighborhood bars which is their strong suit (location only) when u have no idea who will be there day to day.

I came in and tried to order a drink. The bartender complained to me because I was at the bar near the entrance and blocking the entryway for people even though nobody was trying to get by. I ordered in the spot he wanted me to order from, and he ended up pouring me less for drinks I ordered than everyone else and compared to a round a friend ordered thereafter. He was not friendly at all.

Used to be a good spot along with the other spots that are owned by the whole 2bears group but they have really dropped the ball and are losing a customer base of people who just want to drink, have a good time, and banter. They don’t carry any big name brand alcohol and in light of the D.M. scandal of 2023 stopped carrying certain brands of alcoholic beverages. While I think it’s their business and their choice, the bartenders are just so poorly equipped to offer alternative drinks. Like if you’re not gonna give me what I ask for, offer alternatives. They just stare at their phones in far more apparent empty bar spaces than before or just stare into empty space. They get angry if you ask for something they don’t carry. I actually asked for Bombay tonic, they didn’t have bombay. I asked for don julio, they didn’t have don julio. I asked tor hornitos, they didn’t have hornitos, i asked for heineken, they didn’t have heineken. This location and the uptown locations are all declining. Haven’t been back since my experience— these venues were actually good hangouts… I hope they read these reviews and get feedback from their own bartenders and choose to change up their business strategy before they end up closing down.

one of my favorite later-night spots during the week. the bartenders are supremely good at this & the beer-shot specials are unmatched up here to my knowledge.

Really judgmental bar-tender made me and my partner feel super unwelcome. The place smelled like a toilet too. We couldn't stay for long because the smell and the service was un-bear-able.

Seriously, it’s my favorite gay bar. Great drinks. Fun staff. Laid-back yet stylish atmosphere. Free popcorn!

Laidback LGBTQ bar for those looking for a classic drink away from the craziness of Boystown or Andersonville. Pinball machines and games available, and same friendly staff as all the other 2Bears group bars.
