Let’s just say I was surprised. It’s a bulletproof counter in a big busy gas station. But the young guy who made my sandwich was helpful and enthusiastic. The sandwich was so generous with ingredients I first thought they’d given me the wrong size. A little overboard on dressings but I like that. The price was great, a true bargain. Get it to go and go across the road to eat in Garfield Park.
I moved here from philly and have been looking for the closest thing to a hoagie you can get in Chicago. This is the closest I've come so far. I asked if the owner was from Philly and they said yes.My one critique is I asked for hot peeppers hoping for long hots and they put giardiniera, but that was partially my mistake.The rolls could be a bit better, they're very close to that philly/nj roll, and I would say closer than anything else I've found in chicago so...
I drive about 30 minutes to get the best subs in town! Top quality meats and cheeses, and freshly baked bread you can taste. I wrapped them in parchment paper and twine for that elevated look. Highly recommend! I ordered two trays for a gathering I hosted and it was a big
