Alice’s is by far the best karaoke spot in the city. It’s affordable, it’s chill, it’s eclectic, it’s all the things you want in a bar that has karaoke every single night! As someone that lived in karaoke city (aka Olympia, Washington lol) this place far surpasses. The bartenders are lovely and accommodating, the spot is spacious, and i always feel safe and well cared for here. Alice’s will always be my forever late night destination in this city! A hidden gem!

My wife and I stumbled across this place on date night. Not too many places still have an authentic neighborhood bar feel with karaoke that was fun to do. I’d recommend getting in early and building up the liquid courage like I did. Definitely worth the visit.

Sweet time. Sometimes I pop over here after some brews at Map Room. I don't do karaoke too much but looks pretty fun and some people are really good. Maybe one day I'll belt out a hot track. Do they have The Eleven on karaoke? Only rec is carry a delish cider bc that's a great late night topper after drinking a bunch of brews at Map Room. Underberg?

EDIT: Since our initial visit we were contacted by management and they were able to remedy the situation, we revisited at a later date and had a much better experience. The KJ this time was funny, nice, and very friendly. A much better experience overall.
A group of us came in specifically for karaoke, pretty early, every one put in a song and not a single song we put in came up in the nearly 2 hours we were there. There was no communication on how long the queue was, where we were in the queue, and if anyone else was singing the same song. When we tried to talk to the person in charge of karaoke he didn’t say anything, just shrugged.

*Original review* Honestly I was very excited to have a karaoke bar close to where I lived and love the community and camaraderie that comes with karaoke. The bar itself is nice! Cute and a little dive bar in vides and atmosphere. I’ve been here twice now and was disappointed and offended both times. The first time we came my party was excited to sing karaoke we got our drinks and proceeded to go up and put our names in for karaoke only to be turned away due to a private party with no prior warning at the door or staff. A simple chalk board on the wall doesn’t resolve the root issue of you advertising yourself as a karaoke bar. We never even saw the chalkboard and, again, we’ve been in the bar for several hours over the course of two nights. So we finished our drinks that we could have avoided buying to leave the bar disappointed.
The second time, we came was after we had finished at Market Days on Saturday having a larger group all of us being excited to sing karaoke. We got drinks and understood that the bar was busy so there was going to be a line to sing. We all wrote down our song on the slips of paper that seem in retrospect to be an archaic and poorly managed way to put in your requests. I honestly haven’t seen this type of requesting songs since the early 2010s so out dated to say the least. No one in our group was called up to sing in over two hours we were there. The older gentleman running it let someone else up to sing the song I had requested so I went up to ask him what to do or what was going on and why he let me put that song in if someone else requested it and all he did was shrug and stopped paying any attention to me.
In all, there are two things that could massively improve the experience at this bar:
1) Better communication about private karaoke hours. Door guy and bartenders could easily tell people as they come in. 2) A better karaoke sign up system and please ask the KJ to actually be nice. Communication around places in the queue or if there are repeat songs is a normal thing that happens all the time at karaoke bars.

I’ve been going to Alice’s for years and it’s long been one of my favorites not only for karaoke but for a nice chill hang (before the singing starts).
The new owners have taken Alice’s to new heights, frequently running specials and events that are always a good time.
