dined for my birthday dinner in chicago. had an espresso martini while we waited for our table to be ready, it was delish. only complaint is that it was $22, so i only got one. our server joe was amazing. all around provided amazing service. i did the restaurant week menu, and unfortunately i have to say that the food was extremely mid for the price. i started with the tuna crudo, which was probably the saltiest thing i have ever had in my life. second, i had the kale caesar, which was pretty delicious, but had entirely too many red onions. then i had the chicken parm, which was literally just chicken with cheese broiled on top, no pasta...flavor was definitely lacking. had olive gelato and a birthday dessert, which i did not like the olive oil gelato because the olive oil flavor was way too overpowering, and the ice cream birthday cake was okay. even with the restaurant week deal, i feel like $91 for that meal, including a $5 12oz can of sprite, is just too much. not sure that i would return.
Great value for restaurant week! All of the food was amazing and great service from all the staff.
I had a great time at Alla Vita for restaurant week. The food was delicious and the value was great for what you got. I would definitely come here again.
Great food. Lovely vibe, highly recommend their bread appetizer and arancini, and tiramisu is not to be missed.
I know it's restaurant week in Chicago, but for the first time, the service wasn't great. Our waiter seemed to be off his game, because he forgot to bring us a dish. So, I don't know if that was just that day. However, I've been here before and it's been great service great food. But that particular day it was just off and was not pleasant.
Nolan was the best server I've ever had. He was so personable and sweet. Made our experience so much better. The food and drinks were amazing. I'll be back for the funfetti gelato. Again, I can't say enough about how amazing Nolan was. Can't wait to dine with you again.
Server was condescending. When we had a question about the menu he made us feel like the questions we were asking were dumb.
Six us went to dinner to celebrate birthdays. We started with drinks & appetizers. We all ordered from the restaurant week four course menu. Everyone enjoyed their food & cocktails. They did acknowledge the birthday's (notified restaurant in the reservation). The menus had “Happy Birthday” printed at the top & they brought dessert with candles. We are looking forward to returning.
The food was alright, but overpriced for the quality. Dessert was amazing. Definitely more of an appetizer and drinks place!
I am very disappointed. I have been to this restaurant several times before, but this visit was a letdown. We came as a large group to celebrate a milestone birthday, yet we were almost seated at a high table near the kitchen, which was completely inappropriate for the occasion. The service was poor—the server was not helpful, did not make any recommendations, and did not even suggest sides with the main courses. To make matters worse, dessert was served to everyone, but the birthday guest received hers last, with no acknowledgment or “happy birthday” at all. The food this time was just okay. On top of that, my gift card was not applied to the bill. I have tried calling the restaurant multiple times and have also emailed, but no one has responded. This lack of follow-up and customer service is unacceptable.

Our waitress was wonderful. She pleasant, professional and very helpful. She really made our dining an experience. Thank you.
Amazing! We were here for restaurant week and the service and food was stellar. No cocktails included, but the Blackberry cocktail was to die for!!
Amazing. One of my favorite meals I’ve had recently. Loved the ambiance, service was great and most importantly the food and wine were incredible. Highly recommend the Sangiovese wine by the glass, the tuna crudo, mortadella toast, and the squash sacchetti. 10/10!

Came for a lunch during the week. Service and atmosphere was great. The riggatoni was good until a little over halfway. The pasta noodles were ice cold. Clearly not reheated properly, the sauce didn't fully coat so maybe thats why but still disappointing for a $26 dish with no meat in it. Also a little odd since it was lunch time so not sure how old the noodles were.

We enjoyed an anniversary celebration and chose this place after seeing a flood of appraisals.
It did not disappoint. The service was friendly and well executed from the first greeting at the door until the last minute.
We started with the bread, which is not something that we usually order as we dont want to get filled quickly with carbs but this one was amazing and memorable.
The ricotta gnochi appeared to be a popular dish amongst the online reviewers. It was good, but I created higher expectations than it delivered. We shared it, but I think that eating the whole plate would get boring.
The fresh pasta was very good. The sauce was classic and confort food, but it lacks a touch of originality.
