I've been goings to Al's for many years . But since owners changed so has their service and pizza. Been calling for the past 3 months to buy pizza no one ever answers. Finally, drove by there to find a sign saying they are on vacation. At this point they should stay closed. It's a shame because this used to be my favorite pizza place..Bye bye !!! Al's
Al's in Chicago institute for thin crust pizza always a pleasure to eat it
Two stars for 5-star pizza…. Only good when they will actually take your order. I’ve enjoyed dozens of their thin crust pizzas. For the last couple years, they simply refuse to ever answer their phone, and will take an online order and then cancel for an “emergency”. I’ve tried SO many time to get through because I love their pizza, but I give up. Very sad this business when from one of my top favorite local places to one I can support any more. RIP Al’s.
Pizza is pretty good but they never answer their phones... I usually call and if they don't answer, I call elsewhere. Im sure the owner is losing a ton of money in lost orders. Last time I called an hour before they close and the lady who answered said they are no longer taking new orders..
Al's pizza we am disappointed. Our pizza was delivered late and instead is was soft and not even crunchy. After consuming two slices me and my wife had a stomach ache for 3 hours.
Worst experience ever.. I called for pizza at 507 pm and it's 641 and no pizza yet and I called back and they keep saying oh we are sending it out but come on
I went one time and ordered for pick up and loved it.Now this is the FOURTH day, all being seperate occasions, where I have called, been put on hold & no one picks up.RIDICULOUS HOW UNPROFESSIONAL THIS PLACE IS.
Ordered pizza with grub hub and they never showed up. They won’t answer the phone and closed after I waited 1 1/2 hours. Now I have to wait 3 working days for my money. Never again
I've been ordering from Als for years I used to order every Saturday wings for college football and recently maybe the past 6 experiences they have messed up my order well today I gave it another shot and my wings were very under cooked very slimy I had to try and reheat them on the stove unfortunately I will no longer be ordering from here its a shame cause due to Covid these small ma and pop places have been suffering you'd think they'd take more pride in the food, but I guess not
What happened to the Loyalty Program (Reward points)??? Three months ago I was one point away. Since then I ordered about 5 times and never got any more reward points??? Have you stopped the Loyalty Prog.???

Crust was good, everything else, not so much…
We've been getting Al's pizza for years and love it. The thin crust is our favorite. Recently, the management changed and i noticed a difference. When i walked inside to pickup my carryout order, no one was in sight. I waited quite awhile before someone came from the back to help me. I can understand if something was keeping the staff from being available right away but this could reflect poorly for new customers. But the real poor reflection were the signs posted for employees that were in full sight of the customer. One sign stated "Stop moving things on this counter. Leave them exactly where they are!!!!". Another sign posted on the tea machine stated "No tea, Do not touch!". As a customer, I'm already getting the impression that this management is angry at the employees and doesn't care about berating them in front of the customers. I found that very unprofessional and it left a poor impression of the new management in my mind.I still would recommend the pizza because it's amazing but the experience of the old employees with smiles on there faces and willing to strike up a conversation with their customers was not present during this visit. I'm hoping they were just having a rough evening.
I love this pizza
On my way home from work on a Sunday at 7pm, I called and was on hold for 7 minutes. I was curious as to why Al’s would be so busy that I would be on hold for that long. Finally I pulled over, placed my order online, and proceeded to Al’s. When I pulled in, there was a couple on a chair, a girl sitting on a guy’s lap, in the parking lot. When I walked in, there was no one at the front for a few minutes. I waited. Finally, the girl walks in, and says, “pick up, right?”. Same girl from the parking lot. Meanwhile while I’m waiting for my pizza, the phone is ringing off the hook and the girl isn’t picking up. Then, another woman comes in, not sure where she came from, and she divvying up cash. Meanwhile, the phone is still ringing off the hook. I feel bad for the owner, they probably lost out on $200-$300 worth of phone orders. They do have good pizza though.
Great food!! But there are some days when I call for delivery, they put you straight to hold music long enough(I’ve been on hold for over ten minutes, so I have time for this review) to frustrate you into just hanging up!! VERY DISAPPOINTING ALS!! ?
