This place hasn't really changed in the last 20 years. It's not at all cheap - so don't be fooled by the decor and feel. It is, however, 24-hours and 2 blocks from the 24-hour train, so it's kind of a win. I'm always grateful that it's open any time I happen to be up late and in need of some midnight burritos. Food is a solid 3.8, prices are pretty high, and the same ladies have been serving here for decades which adds some charm. If you don't get a beverage of any kind, you can be out for under 30 bucks, if you get a couple, you can expect your tab to be 70+.

Strawberry Margarita wasn't strong enough or sweet enough. More like water. But everything else was great! And I love how they have parking.

I've been going here since they opened up in the 80s, and they are still as delicious if not more. I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures but I had a carne asada tostada and an ice cold beer, wonderful service, wonderful salsa and chips while I waited. A staple in Chicago's Mexican restaurants!

I was looking forward to some carne asada tacos but when I took my first bite when I got home, I can tell they didn’t put any seasoning and the onions weren’t even cooked. The quality of meat wasn’t good. It was stale and not fresh at all. Very disappointing. No flavor, and honestly I went to sleep mad as hell.

All of the people lowballing this spot because of hidden fees, or language barriers, or whatever are to be ignored. This is an incredibly delicious establishment.

Holy spirt tell a vision

Firstly, I rated the atmosphere a 5 because I’m introverted. If you show up on an afternoon you’ll know why.
Pretext II
I’ve probably spent close to 4k over the last 20 yrs on food trucks.
Now the GOOD part.
Pico de gallo is superior to anyone else according to the palette of Perry. No, I have not eaten at every restaurant in the Midwest (former rideshare driver) or southern states so take with a grain of salt. However my palette has great wisdom . At 5’11” 134pds , 3 tacos pollo & rice is the wall. If I want to drive a car safely, u understand? You will try the tacos and you will try the rice. Now listen carefully let me help you because I drove down for lunch from Wisconsin. I’m saying that to say this; food is better than sex or women. The sauce is not for the tacos it is for the rice. 4 cups precisely is enough (I prefer 2 green 2 red). You want each rice grain fully submerged in a spicy paste like soup(continue to stir until satisfied). If you order the large side of pico de gallo even better but I only ordered on my tacos. Staff is friendly , elder señor on the grill has been running Arturo’s ever since I stepped in the door about 10 yrs ago. And if you think it’s too expensive it ain’t Taco Bell. Go return some useless junk you don’t need back to the store and treat yourself to Arturo’s Tacos.

Been eating here for 15 years. You guys have lost all grounds from quality, service, and hospitality. It’s a very sad. Tuesday I was there and a 3 taco dinner was $17.95 for 3 tacos and dog food for rice and beans. Add $4 for grilled cebiollos and $7 for a modelo it’s costed me after tip $41 which is absolute nonsense. I’m disgusted, I work in the industry and this was the worst I’ve seen in many years. Go to El Original down on grand and Oakley for better food, pricing, and service. This place is now a joke. Ownership doesn’t allow you to tip on the bill anyone so be ready to be uncomfortable about leaving either cash or paying them thru their Venmo’s they have at the front counter when you close out. All eyes will be on you. Jokes

I bought a gordita that costs 5.95 plus 2 tacos al pastor and it was 3.95 for the two tacos and the taxes were 1.86 and I ended up paying 17.80 I have the resivo and in all the redos that are in fletch me I realize that they do not consider what is on the ticket, they charge more and that is not the employee's fault, that is what the cash register registers, I think I will change places, it is not correct, it is theft...
