You have to bring your own cup if you want to drink water.
You have to bring your own soy sauce if you want to season your food.
I haven’t used the bathroom yet, but next time I’ll bring my own toilet paper just in case.

Aster Hall is one of my husband and I's favorite places to visit in all of Chicago. We have met friends here for drinks, brought our laptops to get work done, and love getting a small bite to eat in the middle of shopping. The music, ambiance, and atmosphere are one of a kind. The environment feels perfectly nostalgic, yet modern. Inside Aster Hall is a spacious, dim-lit seating area that never feels crowded. With outlets for devices, booth seating, and large windows that overlook Michigan Ave. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Aster Hall and look forward to being back in just a few days!

This is a great concept but horribly run and I sampled a couple of places and. The food was bland. I got a middle eastern salad that was almost entirely parsley and very little tomato, cucumber and onion. The lemon dressing tasted like lemon flavored water. The fried dumplings were deeper fried, I think, because they were extremely hard! Lived all over Asia and never had a dumpling like that. Miso soup was fine tasting but cold. Finally the tie sides are separated. The kiosk machine asks for a tip but you have run from side to side to see if your food is ready???? They have complimentary water but will NOT give you a cup? They say people help themselves to the soda so they don’t give out cups for water??? They take your phone number but do not notify you when the food is ready. A guy tells you number out so you better be by him when he does it no way you’ll know the food is there. Plus if you order from locations on opposite sides you’ll just have to guess. Stupid system and very sorry I tipped.

Cute cozy cafe inside the building of the Bloomingdale’s store when you enter from Michigan Avenue. Hot matcha latter with some macadamia milk was absolutely delicious!! There are many sitting options around the area. It’s great to make a stop while you are walking on the Michigan Avenue or shopping at Bloomingdale’s . Loved it!!!

Odd setup, but nice vibes and a very good Chicago style hot dog! Pizza was so-so. Sushi was decent as were the chicken strips.

Why can't I get a cup for water with my meal anymore? I was told management discontinued the cups because people were getting water and not buying food. They still have the water taps for still and sparkling, but no cups - it's only for people who bring their own. How stupid!

Ordered buffalo chicken wings with ranch from the Rotisserie. They gave me bbq chicken wings with ranch that expired a week earlier. It was a to go order so I didn’t notice until I got home.
High end mall food court. Great spots to pick from. Easy to order from all places. Seating was comfy and classy. There are dedicated elevators that take you to the Aster Hall directly.
