The burger hype is real. Thick, juicy patty, perfectly melted cheese, and that soft bun that somehow holds it all together. Add the egg if you’re feeling bold. Tight space, constant buzz, but the food absolutely delivers. One of those meals you think about later.
Believe the hype—Au Cheval is the real deal. We went in with high expectations and this place did NOT disappoint. I added the egg and thick-cut bacon to my burger, and it was easily one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. To top it off, the cocktails were absolutely delicious. It’s a total vibe and worth every minute of the wait. If you’re in Chicago, this is a non-negotiable stop!
Undoubtedly one of Chicago’s most popular restaurants, Au Cheval delivered a memorable experience. They don’t take reservations so expect long waits at prime dining hours, but I came on a Sunday around 2 and only had to wait for about 20 minutes before being seated at the bar.
