Decent food.
Nice decoration. I like the view of the midway plaisance.
Overpriced.
Will visit again.

More of the older more mature professional crowd probably from the U of C. So relatively quiet and can usually find a walk in dining-for now. I have mostly gone for happy hour and they currently have an excellent one on Wednesdays. Outdoor seating available as well during warmer months...A very nice classy alternative to Messler and Virtue as far as classy upscale options in Hyde Park area.

BARDAVID offers a beautiful, modern atmosphere that feels both elegant and cozy. The Mediterranean-inspired dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the cocktails were well crafted. Service was attentive, though a bit slow at times, which kept it from being a perfect experience. Overall, a wonderful spot worth revisiting.

As soon as I walked in, I was in awe of the restaurant’s beautiful architecture. I wanted a change of scenery from working at home and was so pleased with my decision. I had the best experience with my server, Victoria (my namesake), who was so kind and generous from the moment we met. I’ll definitely be back soon for dinner with my husband and son.

Beautiful atmosphere! Kind staff, the friendliest service, incredibly high quality entrees and apps, $10 signature cocktails on Wednesdays!

The food and setting are great. I know working at a restaurant is a lot of work, but the staff needs better training. Just the bare minimum of customer service would make a huge difference. I saw a diner faint on the way to the bathroom and the staff was totally unhelpful! They were just trying to push her out the door while she was coming back around— pushing for her to let them call an ambulance. An ambulance? It’s not a medical emergency, just give her a minute.
It looked like they waited a long time to even tell her friend back at table that something had happened. I had no idea what to do. Instead of helping, they were gossiping about how to get her out of there. Things happen in restaurants and the staff needs training. If someone starts choking will they shove them out into the street? As a customer, I would have liked to see some compassion and patience rather than trying to hurry someone out the door to keep up appearances.

Was there for branch. The menu was small. Tried a few dishes. Presentation was good. It is okey, but not a place that I would go again.

I had a strawberry lemon drop and whoever was making them lemon drops was dropping OK they were great. We had burgers we had Their gem Caesar salad. We had the meatballs and we have the steak skewers everything was amazing. Victoria 😍 was our server and I also had the pleasure to order with Jason on a Thursday exceptional service. I wish this place nothing was the best and I will be back. THOSE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES THO FYE

Revisited during this year’s restaurant week and I think it solidified BARDAVID as my favorite restaurant in Hyde Park. Every dish I’ve had here is memorable, in a good way! And thank you Victoria for the excellent service during a lunch rush.
Edit: I only wish they were open on weekends, because this place is the first spot I want to bring out of towners!

Nice comfy seating, I like how the seats face outdoors
The focaccia bread is good and a steal for $5 for 3 pieces. I really liked the vegetarian tagine. The cocktails were good but overpriced (I had the hot toddy). I was looking forward to the chocolate torte but it didn't taste fresh.
Excellent service by Vicki, thank you!
I have zero complaints, after a long day at work, I needed a little Me time. And Bar David did not disappoint. The music was the perfect level, the service was great I sat at the bar and a nice gentleman helped me. He helped pair my wine with my meal and it was a splendid time. I WILL be back and tell all my friends! 🫶🏾🫶🏾
