Food that definitely hits the spot! They do have some seating out side of the building, which is covered.

Pepper and meat ball subs were great. No seating here but you can eat standing up at the counter. Call ahead to have your order ready when you arrive

Old school best sandwiches in Chicago
Reminds of when I was growing up in the 60s even the way they wrap the sandwiches 🥪

I’ve been coming here for years, and yesterday was extremely disappointing.
Called in my usual order of two sandwiches, and come to pick them up 20 minutes later….they were not ready. The cashier had to go in the back and point out the ticket with my order. Watched them make it completely wrong, and with stale bread. Questioned the freshness of the bread and he said that it’s always like that.
I’ve been coming here for 10 years. It’s NEVER like that.
Asked for ham/prosciutto with extra fresh mozzarella. They used turkey and sliced mozzarella, and for the eggplant sandwich, it was burnt with no flavor.
This isn’t the Bari I fell in love with. Something has changed, and it’s not a good thing.

I’ve been going to Bari for many years since its close to my old neighborhood but honestly it was horrible! The sandwich tasted awful. I asked them to put eggplant on it and the eggplant was big hard chunks! Also, the beef sandwich was so damn salty I couldn’t eat it! I spent 50 dollars for a terrible lunch! I don’t know what happened but they seriously went down hill and that cashier needs to be a little friendlier. Try smiling once in a while! It was the last time for me!

I come here to purchase grocery items that are hard to find at conventional stores. I hope this store stays in the neighborhood forever.
