One of our favorite places in Chicago for dinner. The cocktails, food and service are creative and always terrific.
The pork konkotsu appetizer was truly spectacular would come back for drinks and 3 orders of that
Food was innovative and very good as well as a good value for the money. Keep up the good work, as I can't wait to for my next visit. Nice job everyone!
Basant is our go-to when we want to introduce friends and family to a great restaurant. Dependably tasty and interesting food in an inviting atmosphere. Everyone we've brought has loved it!
Gluten-free Indian fried chicken bites? Amazing. The food was so good and the ambience was lovely. Would definitely go back.
I'm from London where we are spoilt by great Indian food. In my opinion there are very few good Indian restaurants in Chicago so I am thrilled to have found Bassant. Truly, beautiful, tasty dishes with levels of flavor which are completely delicious. Service is great and they have a good bar if you like fancy cocktails. This is our go to for Indian food, highly recommend

Basant is consistently flavorful, delicious fresh and an overall pleasant dining experience. I highly recommend.
Basant is the best restaraunt in North Center. A little pricey but it makes it more of a treat, and we never leave hungry. Cant wait to try more!
Sophisticated, wonderful dining experience.

Great food! Go often, eat plenty. I haven’t had a dish here that didn’t hit.

Basant promises a "modern" take on Indian food, but I found it on the whole neither especially modern nor especially good at Indian food. The same I had was overly dry, and its sauce wasn't especially interesting, and the dal was not smooth enough and not very tasty. The rice was also only ok. And the restaurant doesn't serve lassi, which seems to me a mistake.
Great appetizers .. entree was disappointing .. the drinks were great .. great service
