Being in the industry. Very disappointing. Order the short rib poutine. And spicy egg. Ordered and received my food within 3 minutes. Short ribs tasted old and like kept in a steam well. Fries were obviously extra since it takes at least 4 to 5 minutes in a fryer at 350. The demi was obviously a powder and thick and salty since it continues to reduce as it also sits in a steam well. The eggs are served in a plastic rampkin which to the eye is definitely a turn off.

True story: Had a burger at Au Cheval earlier this week. My buddy says, "Is this the best burger in Chicago or what?" (referring to Au Cheval) and the first thing that came to my mind was Beard & Belly... Came in last night to confirm, and it's true: This is definitively one of the best burgers and may truly be *the best*.

Oh my goodness! The staff could not have been friendlier! They are extremely kid friendly. I ordered the handheld chicken pot pie, and it was mostly crust. Don’t get me wrong, the crust was good, but there was very little chicken very little vegetables. My husband had the short rib poutine and enjoyed his meal very much. We got the cheesecake special to go and had it at home that evening. The atmosphere here is wonderful! All in all, I have to recommend the pies. They have a baker who comes in in the morning and makes the pies fresh! If you love pie, you have to try hers!
Kid-friendliness: They couldn’t have been nicer to the three-year-old with us!

I came here for one thing and one thing only, biscuits and gravy...and gawd dayum did they deliver. It was almost too fancy/unique looking with the herb oil on it to consider it in the top all time in the city but I licked that plate clean. From the fluffy house made biscuits from the connected bakery to the plate filled fresh hot sausage gravy I was in heaven and definitely felt slow afterwards but in a good way.
Solid place for brunch, solid place for drinks, solid outdoor back patio for summer. Haven't tried burgers/dinner but looks legit. This has become my favorite local spot hands down.
