What a pleasure to find a place so populated with people who adore cheese. I frequently return to appreciate their “Cheese for Dinner” platter which has some truly inspired tasting pairings. The Prairie Breeze cheddar is a can’t miss. Notably they also offer this to-go and it is perfect for a last minute hosting board. I’ve also never been disappointed with a bottle from their excellent shelf selection. The place is cozy, simple, and inviting.

There is a 100% chance my girlfriend wants to come here every time she is in town. EXTREMELY well curated spot from the food, drinks, vibe, music, and service. And the best part, it’s not super busy so we always have a spot. One of the gems of West Side Chicago

An absolute GEM in the neighborhood. This place has been on my list for a while, and I finally stepped in for lunch. The sandwich/salad menu is on the small side, but everything looked great and very reasonably priced. The option for a side salad that isn't your basic garden salad (spring mix, cucumber, carrot, tomato) was a big plus. Even better was that the arugula salad was incredibly delicious and the dressing tasted like it was freshly made.

My partner and I split the TBB and Pimento/Okra sandwiches. The Pimento/Okra was small but MIGHTY in flavor. Coming from the south, we have a high bar, and The Beautiful Rind surpassed it. We may come back just to buy a tub of their pimento cheese. The TBB blew me away with the cranberry mayo and bacon jam. Incredible flavor.

I love the versatility of the shop. Perfect for stopping in for a light meal, grabbing a drink, splitting a charcuterie board while you catch up with friends, or shopping from a beautifully curated selection of cheese, wine, nuts, chocolate, tinned fish, etc!

The size/shape of the space does allow voices to carry, and it was a little loud with what seemed to be a large group (having a great time) in an adjacent room, but that's hardly a complaint, and more just something to be aware of if noise is something that affects you.

I can't wait to come back!

Review for wine class:
We had an amazing time learning about natural wines and natural rinds! Anna is an informative teacher, who is passionate and very good at what she does. All the wine and cheese pairings were fun and unique. Glad we tried this experience, and will be joining more in the future.

Love this little spot! Had this place bookmarked for a while and I’m so upset I haven’t tried it earlier! This is the perfect spot for a quaint date night or meetup with friends or family. There was a separate room for private events as well.

The place has a small bodega type section with a variety of wine, meats, crackers, tinned fish, etc. There’s also a cheese counter that has a vast selection of cheeses. I finally got to try the award winning Pleasant Ridge Reserve! It’s also a cute restaurant with a menu comprised of cheesemonger curated charcuterie boards, appetizers, sides and sandwiches.

We got the Meats & 3 Cheeses board that has meats, cheeses and accompaniments chosen by their cheesemonger. So yummy. We also got the burrata salad and some cocktails. Salad was fresh and the cocktails were delish. After our meal we needed caffeine so we got the cold brew and matcha green tea. The matcha came with an adorable mini cat pitcher filled with oatmilk🤩

Service was great and so helpful answering all our cheese questions. Great experience and highly recommend!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not to mention the amazing cheeses! I got a raclette and ham sandwich as well as the cheesemongers choice of 2 cheeses with accompaniments happy hour special. Everything exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to see what cheeses they choose for me next time for my next board!

5 star experience!! Would definitely recommend for all those cheese lovers. We enjoyed a queity Sat afternoon here with a variety of products. The grilled cheese and soup, the fired up cheese, raclette hot dog, and the cheese board (filled with crowd pleasing flavors). It was very quiet, open and clean and we saw lots of people come in and out to get their cheese, wine bread and chocolate. We'll be back!!

If you love cheese you owe it to yourself to check out Beautiful Rind. I stopped by for some interesting sheep's milk cheese and left with three different ones. They also have a very well curated selection of wines. What's especially nice about buying wine here is that it's a relatively small selection, nothing that you would find in grocery stores, at reasonable prices.

You can round out your purchase with so.e tinned fish, cured meat, fine chocolate, artisan crackers, Jordan almonds, dried fruits and other delicious things.

The staff is knowledgeable, samples are free (although they will ask for a tip if you buy anything).

Check it out. It's a neighborhood gem!
