My favorite restaurant in the city, hands down. Every time I go, the food is 10/10 and the service is unmatched.
Amazing food and staff.

Went for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint! We loved the beignets (so good and hard to find done well in Chicago), CYOPO cooked to perfection & the corn griddle cakes which were interesting and flavorful.

This restaurant does not really well represent the wonderful foods of New Orleans and Louisiana that I've eaten from living near that area for over 30 years.
Beignets were terrible. They were heavy and dense and really just pieces of bread. We couldn't tell if they were fried or baked.. but the outside was hard.
Also, dumping an unnecessarily huge amount of powdered sugar on them did not make them better, but it was annoying to try to eat.. A proper beignet is light, fluffy, almost hollow, crispy on the outside and lightly dusted (coated) with powdered sugar.
The service was adequate but we spent a lot of time wondering if our server had turned in our order and if we were going to get refills on drinks and if our table would be cleared for the next course.
The Firecracker Okra was VERY good.. perfectly crisp and well seasoned.. the sauce on it was also very tasty.
Fried Green Tomatoes were marginal, being severely undercooked and hard with only a very lightly golden crust which fell off with each bite. Very undercooked.
The shrimp and remoulade on top was wonderful.
The brown gravy on the biscuit was just watery and brown, the biscuit had a very unwelcome sweetness to it considering it was smothered in gravy, served with eggs and sausage. It would have been ok if served with honey and butter, but the sweet was incompatible with the savory items on the plate.
I had the omelette with the crawfish and cream cheese.. it was perfectly cooked at a low temp so it didn't get browned, the crawfish were tiny tiny tiny, but they were there and the sauce was excellent. The cream cheese was just a giant blob, plopped in one end of the folded omelette so over half the omelette had zero and the other half had so much you just couldn't eat it.
The hash browns with the onions and peppers were excellent.
Overall, it seems as though the owner, chef, manager, or anyone involved in the menu hasn't spent much time in New Orleans based on what I experienced.
I 'might' go back to see if the fried chicken stacks up, but based on this experience, I don't have high hopes.
It was not awful overall, but there needs to be some solid effort put forth to increase the care and preparation as well as correct the lack of authenticity.

Southern cooking at it's finest ... This place really surprised me as I didn't expect it to be as delicious as it was.
Although you'll get the classic Southern dishes it's prepared and delivered in a classy detail setting. This isn't like your mom's Southern cooking this literally is a fancy preparation and style.
The fried green tomatoes were some of the best I have ever eaten. Lightly battered and season then fried to perfection. It was not over cooked and the tomatoes were just enough to cut with a fork yet melt in your mouth. The texture was amazingly delicious!
I indulge off the appetizers with getting crab cakes. This was a treat and wish that for the cost of the cakes they were a little bigger. Don't get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the crab cakes instead they were so yummy that I felt it was more of a tease to my mouth because they were a bit small. Yet I feel recommend getting them to taste the zest that comes from every bite. Real crab and no fish after taste .. Yum!
After having 2 bottles of there Chardonnay, eating a bowl is shrimp and grits I was satisfied that this was my dinner spot.
The folks next to my table has ordered the cat fish ... Their plates looked so gorgeous with this beautiful crusted filet that I wanted to ask to take a picture to remind me to get that next time lol
Can be pricey since plates are smaller than worth paying and I recommend goggling pictures of their dishes before going in and ordering. Because if your hungry I can guarantee you that you'll be adding side dishes to fill you stomach.

Lucas was a great server. The food was fantastic. The sorghum butter is delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the cornbread. Highly recommended.

Everything was exquisite! The crawfish and andoulle sausage omelet was excellent! My daughter had the crab cake on puff pastry with poached egg and sauce 😋
Amazing brunch especially the Steak and Egg Melba, please make that a permanent addition to brunch.
We had a very lovely brunch today on New Year’s Eve with our two children. The gluten free fried chicken and skillet corn bread were delicious! My toddler devoured the macaroni and cheese, and hush puppies. The service was excellent as well - quick, helpful, friendly, accommodating, and overall delightful, especially our server Lucas. Our family felt very welcomed at Big Jones, but I would note that there is no infant changing table in the men’s room, so my husband was unable to change our baby. I would suggest adding a changing table to the men’s restroom so all parents can care for their babies in the restaurant. For that reason only, I felt it was a 4 star experience instead of 5. However, we did really enjoy our meal and we will be back.

Our party of four was celebrating the New Year and looking forward to a great meal. All of us had eaten at Big Jones previously and were back because we thought the food was excellent. Unfortunaely last night was a big disappointment. The turtle pasta dish was VERY salty. One of the soups was almost flavorless. The mushroom entree was flavorless. And the pile of merangue atop the desert was so big that it hid the tartness of the lemon curd. The service staff was wonderful. Just a grave disappointment with the quality of the cooking.
We went to Big Jones for their New Years Eve prix fixe menu. Each course's choices were interesting and the ones we ordered were really excellent.
I will never stop coming here. I truly appreciate how amazing this place is. The staff make it a 100% great experience. The food is ALWAYS on point. I've tried the chicken, cat fish and grits, cheese puffs, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, sweet potato puree, the greens.. the mimosas and some of their cocktails. I've got 3 bottles of their jamacian jerk hot sauce. My only compliant is there's no carry out for brunch. Outside of that, Ill always be back lol.

Great happy hour, friendly staff, delicious food. Chef occasionally changes the menu to include seasonal items such as beet soup and rutabaga bisque, which are very tasty and may surprise folks who poo-poo root vegetables!

Really delicious food and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended - thank you! One room for improvement: it would be great to have a changing table for kids in the men’s bathroom.
