It was one of those meals that was beautifully timed and perfectly executed. Wish we could've gone all out but we stayed with the short rib beignets which actually were heaven sent. And then each had a steak frites which was phenom, the sauces alone would make me come back. Really excited to turn this into our new treat-yo-self dinner place <3

We were able to grab a reservation here before moving out of state and we’re so glad we did. Boeufhaus was a real treat. We loved everything our waiter recommended. The pasta and short rib beignets were delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We were very impressed with the meal and we’ll be back.

Hostess was very nice and checked out costs at the door. Our server Marissa was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with our questions. The food came out perfectly timed and everything was delicious. The only menu item I didn't like was the squash, but that's me not them, just didn't like the flavors. The short rib beignets were my favorite.
Service was impeccable. Tables are a little close to one another but lighting helps to create a sense of coziness rather than congestion. Food was superb.
Very friendly staff, great food i had the ribs i would 100% recommend. Lovely location too.

Came here to celebrate my wife's birthday and we were unfortunately very underwhelmed. The restaurant is aesthetically nice, but tight and was a bit loud at times. The service felt a bit hands off. We stood awkwardly by the entrance for a while before being acknowledged by anyone and didn't get a lot of engagement from our server. Despite all that there's an automatic 22% service charge added to the bill. The food itself was good, though not particularly unique and we found the portions to be quite small for the price. There also wasn't anything (flavor, presentation, or information wise) that would suggest the ingredients were of some highly notable quality worth their cost. We ordered the New York strip (which was beautifully cooked), spartzle (delicious), and a whole Maine lobster—which they served as a loose pile of meat. Could it have been a whole lobster's worth? Sure. But if it was it was a small lobster. As we were celebrating my wife's birthday, they brought us a ping pong ball sized scoop of ice cream with a candle in it. We certainly appreciated the gesture, but it felt a bit comical given the cost of everything. Wouldn't recommend for a special occasion.
Was disappointed with the food, cold roast beef sandwich for 24 dollars filled with grizzle. Stack of lamb consisting of 3 chops.
Super expensive now. What used to be like ~200$ for a nice steak dinner is now like 400$. I think they are good, but not that good. Nice drinks and appetizers, I’m not going anymore in the near future.

Small steakhouse with a phenomenal burger. The happy hour deal with a burger, fries, and a beer or wine is an incredible deal food the price and quality of what you're getting.
Staff were friendly, professional, and attentive.
My only gripe was with the burger actually, the onions on mine were largely inedible skin while my wife's were all perfect.

Very expensive. Did not have a smaller sized steak other than sharable size 14 oz and up which doesn't work when one person likes rare and one doesn't.

Our waitress was fantastic—each dish she recommended was a hit! We were there to celebrate my father's birthday and he left very happy. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
I'm so sad. I really used to like this place but this time was disappointing. Shrimp cocktail was great, hamachi crudo was soooooo lacking, the steak was ok..... Sauces that came with were broken. The side of mushrooms were good. Idk if it was bc it was nye but I had higher hopes.

It’s very expensive place. But I don’t thin the taste and value back the price up. Everything is super salty.. even the garnish on the beef tartar. I tasted some and it was so overly salty that it ruined my taste for the rest of the meal. My scallops were horrible. They tasted really heavy again in salt and I have to say it’s the worst I’ve had so far in my life due to maybe a very questionable and unfresh supply .. I tasted ammonia when I cut it open and put it in my mouth. I don’t know what to say it was so bad.. I ate half a piece and the rest was eaten by my husband who hated to waste 50 dollars on 3 scallops. This is the biggest scam I’ve had in the eatery scene in Chicago I’ll say. One more thing to make: the smallest oysters I’ve had in my life!!! I’ve been around the world eating at all kinds of restaurants and I’ve just come home from the oyster capital of France CANCALE. Honestly you should be ashamed of the oyster you serve given the price people pay. It’s so small that…. I felt funny when the waiter came around and asked us how we liked it. I mean are you serious????

This was probably my third or fourth visit to Boeufhaus — and it was incredible as usual. From the cocktails to the soup to the steak and sides, every bite was delicious. The service is exceptional, too. 10/10 experience every time
