The steak and porkchop were outstanding. The only disappointment was the three scallops for $46. Service was amazing and can't wait to go back.

I don’t want to shame this place too much since it is a nice establishment and they do make great steaks which I’ve had several times. That said, this time we sat at the bar and just wanted a very American burger and beer. Horrible experience. The beignets were stellar as usually; the burger was once of the worst in Chicago. We’ve been all over the place trying to find the best burger and this, by a landslide, is NOT it. Bun - hockey puck. Burger patty well done. (Didn’t ask for that would do medium rare if asked). Fries were tasty but god a McDonalds burger IS more tasty, more flavor, and better seasoning ?? would not come back for a quick bite, ever. Only for steaks.
Dry aged steak is the star of the show here. Ordered some apps and the the 55-day ribeye.
I've had many steaks all over the country dry aged anywhere from from 21-days to 240-days, but this 55 day specimen definitely stood out.
While not quite as funky as some of the longer aged steaks, the incredible tenderness and complex flavor profile more than made up for it. The slight sweetness with earthy undertones combined with some charring and the sear made for a very excellent experience.
I'm unsure of the breed they use, but it is an awesome one. The steak was perfectly seared and cooked; the au poirve sauce was actually a nice complement even though I don't normally take my steaks with any sauce.
My only negative comment is that I would have personally preferred a heavier salt content, but that can easily be added on the side.

I never heard of this place, and decided to try it on a whim with my gf. We were in the area and felt like a good dinner. Walked in on a Thursday night; we had no reservation, but lucked out by getting the last open table at 730ish. The place is small, and there isn't much space between the few tables they have. But once we were seated, everything was a win.
Tried the short rib beignets for an appetizer. Interesting sweet/savory mix; I dug it. For the main course, I went with the NY strip, fries and mushrooms. Every bite was excellent and nothing survived. That said, my gf had the lamb and she thought it was just ok. It was a large piece of meat but she didn't quite dig the flavor. We were too full for dessert, but did try several drinks. Do yourself a favor and try the Surfer on Acid.... It was incredible. My gf had the Healthy Option and that was really good too.
The only drag for me is the proximity to other patrons. I don't like being super close to strangers when I'm dropping serious coin to dine. The characters at the table next to us were audible so I heard EVERYTHING discussed. So if you're looking for a super intimate evening, keep this in mind.

3% service fee? Really? Food is good otherwise

Sadly this did not live up to the hype and is not worth the price point. The appetizers were good but not great and the steak came out cold with no apologies after we asked if they could heat it up. There are much better steakhouses in the city.

The bone-in ribeye was served sliced with the bone cut off. In my opinion, serving cut steak, not meant to top a salad, is against the well-known rules of serving a bone in medium rare steak. Needless to say, the $110 ribeye lacked flavor and was not the star of my experience.
The steak tartare was delicious, but unfortunately, it was served with toasted slices of plain white bread. What a miss.
Thankfully, the "New Brunswick" raw oysters were exquisite and shucked masterfullly!
Their signature cocktail, the "Humboldt Sour" is a must try, simply scientific!
I recommend sitting at the bar, as the bartender was knowledgeable about the menu and attentive.

FANTASTIC steak!! Came in to celebrate a promotion and the vibes were cozy and relaxed but didn't take away from the high quality food and beef! The tartare was amazing and so was the steak! The martinis were also well made and our server was outstanding! We will be back!

had planned to go since the pandemic, great atmosphere and service, good wine list, we were in a small group of 3, we had the escargot and beignets, both excellent, the frits were also very good, mushrooms were a miss for me as they were a bit rubbery, we had ribeye and strip, the steaks were just so so, a very nice experience but very expensive.
