The Empty Bottle is a significant part of Chicago's music community, known for its diverse programming and friendly staff. Open since 1993, it is considered the best dive bar live music venue in the city. The venue has a long history and offers a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal place to enjoy live music with friends or solo. With lots of good weird stuff and concerts of all kinds, especially punk rock, it attracts many favorite bands. The bartenders are fabulous, and the staff is very friendly. The dance floor is a little small but fills up fast, adding to the fun. Additionally, the attached pizza place is really good too. However, it's cash only, and shows on weeknights start later than other places. Parking is easy, with plenty of free spots available right on Western Avenue. Visitors may also be lucky enough to see the venue's own cat, Peg.
