The Korean fried chicken is battered and fried differently from other places, the crust has a smoother texture but is still very crispy and forms a very nice shell around the meat. The meat remains tender and juicy. Great fried chicken. Sauce is just above average, and I wish they would put more. Decent value.

I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great. The restaurant is small but they made it work for us. The food was AMAZING! I highly recommend

Should’ve listened to the review I saw last week that said the chicken was salty BECAUSE IT WAS- it really was. That’s on me for giving this place the benefit of the doubt. The chicken tasted more like salty batter than actual meat. If you like chewing on seasoned crust and pretending there’s chicken inside, this might be for you. The water is straight up tap water. Maybe that’s normal in Chicago?? I don’t know as I’m not from there. But pairing salted chicken with tap water? Not exactly my dream flavor combo.
Service was... fine? Not great. I dropped the little plate they give you when you sit down (yes, totally my fault- FYI it did not break) The staff saw, heard, and decisively chose to do absolutely nothing.. because everyone around us saw and heard and it’s a small area. But no offer to replace it.. I guess I was just meant to vibe with the germs. :D
We went around 9 PM, so yes, it was packed. That’s fair. But apparently here, even while you're stuck waiting, you’re not allowed to look at the menu? Not sure how that helps anyone. Seems like an odd choice for a busy restaurant… wouldn't it make sense to let your next customers know what they want before they sit down?
We also tried the japchae, which was... there. I’ve had better. The sauce wasn’t properly mixed?? The noodles ended up tasting soggy and separate like two parts of a dish that hadn’t quite met yet.
Would I go back? Let’s just say I’ll be listening to reviews next time.

This was my first time experiencing Bonchon, it was recommended by a family member who said “it’s his favourite fast food restaurant.” We decided to order it during our Chicago trip and in all honesty it was delicious, their signature fried chicken was brilliantly marinated. I genuinely enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

The crispy wings were SALTY, just inedible. I called the restaurant and they said they would refund part of the order (it was half and half) but they never did. This food is not cheap so I expect better.

Dude this place was so good. Well priced. Absolutely delicious chicken. Fried, crispy, tender. Not tough at ALL! I had the boa buns but my group has multiple different things and everyone cleaned their plates. Highly recommend

The service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and attentive. There was a bit of a wait but not long. But the food was so mid. It lacked flavor, it was a bit bland.

The fried chicken was crispy and the garlic sauce as well as the Korean BBQ were delicious. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Delicious Korean chicken! I very much enjoyed the Takoyaki, which was creamy and flavorful with a light crunch on the outside, and the Buldak which is suitable for splitting between two people and has a nice level of heat that compliments the flavor of the dish. The staff was courteous and the service was prompt, although we were seated by the door under the speaker they use for music and it was very loud between that and the crowded dining room.

I visit for the first time the Chinatown location and was very impressed on the taste and quality of the food. I will definitely visit a near location to my hometown.
