The food and service was really good! I was a little worried because it was so empty, but that's probably because it was downtown on a Friday night before a long weekend. Would definitely return and recommend!

My co-workers and I love coming the Madison Tavern for drinks and appetizers, but this time we decided to come for lunch. Four of us order the corn chowder and buffalo chicken sandwich. The corn chowder was delicious, but the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich lacked flavor and was also room temperature. I really raved about the food, but this day our selection was not so great. I will still come back for happy hour, but improvement is needed on that sandwich.

So glad to have this restaurant/bar close to our office! Has good food and good atmosphere. I love the artwork too!

We stopped here for a quick bite before heading to the theater. The location inside the train station makes this an ideal quick bite stop. Unfortunately we were there during happy hour, which is probably their busiest time. Crazy loud, packed and took almost 40 minutes for a salad. We'd go back, food was pretty good but avoid 4 to 7 time frame.

We were on our way to a show that night and thought it would be a convenient place since we were taking the train from the burbs. I request regular dining, not high top, in reservation. But we were seated at a high top. There were plenty of regular tables open. I didn't ask to switch. The place had a heavy chlorine. Not appealing. Food was good. Kind of high priced for fish tacos thou.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, and the food is typically very good. Service, however, has been and remains a problem. On our last visit (for lunch on a weekday during which we were all on lunch breaks), we waited 30 minutes before anyone even came to take a drink order (and that only after we sought the assistance of the host). The food then took a long time to be delivered, but was very good. Unfortunately, we then had to chase down a waiter to bring the check (when our original waitress never reappeared). When he returned after running our credit cards with the receipts for us to sign, he neglected to include my credit card, and we had to search for it among various waitstaff. We reported the poor service to the host and hostess on our way out, but they simply looked at us with blank stares with no offer of apology.

We went on a Saturday evening to dine before a play. The food was quite good, and service was fine, considering we got there just before they closed. Being in Ogilvie was extremely convenient. CAUTION for Saturdays: Their menu is more limited, and they close early, which makes things kind of tight if you're taking the train in for a 7:00 Saturday night play. Our train was scheduled to arrive at 5:23, and actually arrived at 5:30 - good thing we called for reservations, because their "Closed" sign was up when we got there. But service was reasonably timely, the food was good, and we made it to our play in plenty of time.

My colleague and I took our secretary out for Administrative Staff Week this past Wednesday. I made a 12:15 reservation and we got there a few minutes early. They sat us down and our server didn't see us for the longest time - maybe 15 minutes. Our food did not come until 12:50 and my colleague got the wrong food. Pretty disappointing. It's right in the loop so they know that folks who work in the loop are their patrons, so I was surprised at the disappointing service.

The food here is legit! I'm always happy to see vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. I had the roasted vegetable tacos and they were great!! My coworker had salmon and some delicious brussels sprouts by request. Drinks were fab - the daily detox creation was delicious. Service was fantastic! I've been here for lunch a few times, which was good, but Happy Hour was fun - good music, good vibe. (a little loud, but it was busy). Looking forward to going back!

Menu had many choices. We selected the coconut shrimp wrap = delicious! Generous portions. Chase was our server = also excellent. this was our 1st time. We look forward to returning often. thanks.

I had a burger with tots, Friend had a flatbread. While a pretty common plain lunch order, the food was outstanding. In a city full of burgers, this didn't merit outstanding but was a great choice and didn't disappoint. The flatbread of the day looked very good and my friend said it was. This is a really good lunch spot near where I work and I will be back often.

Soup for multiple people never came out. Food presentation was poor at best. Waitress came back to check how everything was but before we could say anything she was gone. Still charged for soup and had to request it removed from the bill. Been here plenty of times but this was by far the worst experience.

Slow table service, stale pretzels, every busser stops at the table and shakes your beer can to determine if the can is empty. Limited vegetarian options. Good for a quick beer.... in a glass.... at the bar.
